I am unaware of how well the progress fares with the script itself, but as long as Lango and Smitehammer says otherwise, the project should be open for auditions. Nothing has really been assigned yet :)

Fair play to Gigarat for

Fair play to Gigarat for doing so many voices, but it might be a bit weird in game if so many of the women have almost the same voice. Well let's hope a few more ladies step up to the mic and lay some stuff down. :)

True story! And what I did

True story! And what I did crank out a few months ago simply out of a lack of other female VA's would need to be re-recorded and replaced anyway. Since then, there have been a few (not as numerous as the fellas, unfortunately, but still a few!) EXCELLENT lady voice actors putting their hat in the ring, and I'm looking forward to hearing their much better work! :D

Of course, the more the merrier, the team could always use a lot more female voices to pick from. LOL

Not sure if an Australian

Not sure if an Australian accent would be a problem, but if you guys reckon it might be able to fit in somewhere, i'd be happy to give it a shot :)

Rules to recording By Bigg

Rules to recording By Bigg Nate.

1 Write out what you want to say and remember we read faster than we can speak out load when we are reading. So try and memorize your lines.

2 Read what you wrote or what is written, out loud 3 times and gage how it sounds to you.

3 Once you have a written copy that sounds good practice your cadence and inflection of your voice.

4 When you feel good about the words then Record them in order three times. Please double check your equipment level and presets. Make you roll 5 sec of silence for editing later.

5 Try and keep the delivery the same speed and pitch. Find your emotion in the voice with our slurring the words. Diction is very important.

6 If you stop for a misread or mistake just start that take over form the last sentence. Then go back and edit it later.

7 Make sure you listen to all your takes before sending to the producer in a MP3 format! Also include the words you wrote if any, in the body of the email or PM with the attached files.

I'm game to help.

I'm game to help. I'm familiar with audio production, and would be glad to generate content remotely.

EDIT: Friend's audition. (Note for the sake of quick audition, recorded on Macbook not pro-audio equipment -- but in future have better equipment can rent.)

@nausicaa88

@nausicaa88

Feel free to check out the specific in-game races (in the Voice Acting hub) to get the jist for them if you aren't already familiar, and there are sample lines for auditions in the first post for each category. If you aren't too sure what race (Dark Elves, Imperials, etc.) your voice might fit best, you can leave a "generic" audition in the "Unique Voices" thread!

Know that much of the voiceover work (as I am aware) hasn't been assigned yet- so don't worry if it takes a little while before you get a response. Good luck!

I just made an account on

I just made an account on here this morning purely out of interest for contributing on the voice and audio side of things. I'm a twenty year old male from England, but I can do several other accents thanks to living in America and spending time in Wales and Canada as well. My voice is in a higher register (tenor) and I'm willing to help with my voice in any way I can. I also have a good mic and interface.

Hi,

Hi,

I auditioned a while back for Imperial, Khajiit, Dunmer, Altmer and Orc. I submitted these directly to Langotriel, who approved all of them (I did my best to match original Morrowind voicings). I can link the mp3 files if necessary.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to assist with the process of sorting and grammar checking. I'll do whatever I can to get the mundane stuff out of the way so that I can start submitting recordings. Let me know what I can do.

hey Mucks,

hey Mucks,

thanks for volunteering. There's two main projects going on right now. Langotriel is heading up grammar checking. Last I checked there's another 10,000 (1/3 of the lines) to go. He could possibly use help with that (just pm him). Or if you feel like doing basic data input there's the following excel entry work that needs to be done for Justafan's new lines:

Thanks!

Do I need a copy of morrowind to successfully do the voice acting? I'm very interested in helping out for the Imperials and some other races in the game. Hope to hear back from someone soon!

There is no requirement to have a copy of Morrowind, just head over to the Imperials thread and audition. There are lines within the first post you can use in your audition. Welcome to the forums!

So I'll probably be upgrading

So I'll probably be upgrading all of my sound equipment in about a week, so I'll be posting a new demo reel with my new gear later in a few weeks (assuming we haven't started recording yet.)

List of gear I'll be getting. The mixer http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EKECC2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?...

The mic http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002T45X1G/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl...

I imagine this will be a great semi-professional mic that will definitely add way more depth to my stuff.

Hey, do you guys still need

Hey, do you guys still need female voice actors? I've got a Blue Yeti mic so sound quality shouldn't be a problem.

I've never played Morrowind (only played a little bit of Oblivion and a lot of Skyrim) so I'm not sure which races/characters I should try for. I'm Canadian, so I guess that's an American accent with some Britishisms? I don't really know. I suppose I could try my hand at other accents, but I don't have any training in impersonating accents so I'm not sure if they'd be any good. For what it's worth, I used to sing, so I have decent control over things like pitch and volume and whatnot.

Hey Rosefae, feel free to

Hey Rosefae, feel free to audition in the appropriate race voice acting hub using some of the lines provided or whatever other material seems appropriate. I would recommend trying out for imperial first, since it's the easiest for Canadians then perhaps do one other race you think you think you might be decent at.

Are you still looking for

Are you still looking for females? I've got more actual acting experience than voice acting, but I'd be very willing to give it a try. My home equipment isn't that great, but since I have a lot of musician friends I have access to a lot better. I probably have a Scandinavian accent since I'm from Finland, but I can do others as well. I couldn't get the Dialogue-v7.xls to work on OpenOffice so I'm not sure what kind of female voices you are still looking for?

Hi Tinga,

Hi Tinga,

I'm fairly certain there is a dire need for female voices of pretty much any race. You don't need the dialogue file, you need to go onto the relevant hub and use the lines off that (in your case Nord would be a good place to start).

https://tesrenewal.com/forums/voice-acting/nord-voice-auditions

I'm fairly certain Finnish is exactly what they want accent-wise. Rolled Rs.

BlazeStorm is correct, we are indeed looking for female voice actors (VA). Follow the link he provided. I would recommend doing your auditions with some of your friend's equipment as we will be ruling on if you are accepted based on both your acting and sound quality. Good Luck!

Hello,

Hello,

I am a big fan of the game and after some people heard my vo work they told me to come check out your project.

Before I start recording I was hoping you might be able to direct me to the more suitable dialogue to read. Here is a link to my last vo job: http://bandonwebmarketing.com/web-development/

Thank you!

I don't see any dialogue on that website. Please remove the link if it does not link to a submission of your work as per the website guidelines. If you are interested in trying VA out please check out the appropriate VA thread by race in the voice acting hub. Each thread includes some sample lines to read.

We already have voice actors

We already have voice actors lined up for most of the uniques. I don't currently have a list of what's taken/not taken but if you're interested in something demonic give it a go, but only if you're really good. We've got some great VAs in this area already. We can always use more dunmer as well if you want to try out for that!

Hey there,

Hey there,

I was wondering what U/G means in the Google Docs Spreadsheet for the race characters, and also whether my cousin could volunteer his voice a child character (which I would assume you would need for a role-play experience).

Thanks

U/G is for our own personal

U/G is for our own personal reference. It denotes unique/generic NPCs in terms of our VA rubric so don't worry about it. We currently don't have any child characters and it isn't an area we are actively working on at this time.

Hey all, I auditioned quite some time ago for a few different race roles. People seemed interested in using me for a Bosmer (I think there was a particular greedy merchant guy that I tried) at the time. Pardon my ignorance; this may be answered somewhere on this forum, but what's the current status? Should I re-audition? Has recording begun? Thanks.

Hello Nasrudin, welcome to the forums!

One the first lines read: "AUDITIONS FOR SPECIFIC RACES SHOULD BE POSTED IN THE APPROPRIATE AUDITION THREADS", which might not be extremely clear as to what it means. It simply means you should find the appropriate race in this forum, and post your audition in it. Good luck!

Ryizine, the lines will be

Ryizine, the lines will be generated when I can, not based on your samples. I was waiting on an internal release that just came out tonight to continue on this aspect.

The few samples should be taken from whatever scripts that are uploaded for you already (will not be all your characters yet of course). We're just getting people to do this so they don't record hundreds of lines and then have us say the sound quality needs to be better. This is primarily aimed at people with good voices but poor sound during audition but makes sense for everyone to send in a few lines which we will try our best to say yes or no very quickly to not hold you up. Remember to PM me or Smitehammer when you do submit them.

Sorry if this is in wrong thread. I was wondering if TESR is going to need voices for the Ash Vampires within Ghostgate. E.g. Dagoth Tureynul, Vemyn, Uthol, etc.? Assuming that sneaking and speaking to them works or casting calm works.

I was on here a while back

I was on here a while back and completed lines for a number of characters, including Falx Carius, Ra'Gruzgob, and Karrod.  It looks like those got lost in the restructuring.  The list still has me as assigned for Ganciele Douar.  I'd be happy to re-record those characters if desired, and possibly take on some new characters soon.  I think my voice works a little better for Imperials and Orcs than it does for Redguards.  I can submit some new auditions starting Tuesday; I have hardware coming in.

I've posted a few different

I've posted a few different auditions in the audition threads over the past few months but haven't gotten any feedback. Which is fine, since I imagine it's pretty time consuming for Smitehammer and Langotriel to respond to every single audition. After not hearing back for a few months, should I assume that my auditions weren't good enough? Or just that they haven't been listened to yet?

I'd really love to be a part of this project and if the only issue is something fixable like sound quality then I'd be happy to rerecord.

Here are links to some of my audition posts in case you need to see them to know what I'm talking about (not all of them are months old):

Right. To answer the question

Right. To answer the question: If we get exceptional auditions that are perfect in every way, we contact the voice actor. In all other situations nowadays, we tend to let it sit for now.. The lines are slowly but surely being dished out to already accepted voice actors. Since about 50% of accepted voice actors seem mostly AWOL because it has taken so damn long to get lines sorted, it is best that we take people on when we are ready so that we don't get a repeat situation... make sense?

Robotic, the imperial is passable but imo, the rest aren't. I suppose Smitehammer may disagree somewhat but he will probably come to the same conclusion. Unfortunately, imperials are the easiest to get so you will have the most competition.. in the relatively near future, we will contact the people we want to voice act.. you may or may not be one of them.. it is impossible to say, currently.
