[Coding && Quests] - Looking to Volunteer

Hello,

I am Aaron. I have played TES since Morrowind and have over 5,000 hours of gameplay among the three single-player games as well as some ESO. I have a Bachelor degree in software engineering. I know some Java and C++. I can learn. I have made a mod for Fallout 4, but was not good enough to post on the nexus site. I am ready to learn papyrus and generate/link content. Point me in the right direction and I will endeavor to fulfill a specific role.

Play around in the CK and

Play around in the CK and learn papyrus is what is primarily needed. I recommend doing some of the quest tutorials. No current applicability for Java or C++ unfortunately.

Greetings Taerkalit,

Greetings Taerkalith,

Thank you for the feedback. If there is indeed a good chance I'll be needed if I learn the CK and papyrus, then I am going to learn it. The tutorials for FO4 CK were very disparate and few. I hope Skyrim CK has more guides. I shall return with more power!!!

Question: should I make a new post after I have mastered some of those tools and concepts or just update this thread?

Skyrim will have more

Skyrim will have more tutorials than FO4 at this time, and you can post again on this thread unless it's been several months.

I currently play a modded

I currently play a modded (full DLC) Skyrim SE version.

1. Should I download regular Skyrim to practice and begin modding?

2. Should I download all the DLC's or is this project just using vanilla Skyrim?

1. Practicing modding in SE

1. Practicing modding in SE is probably fine, but you'll need standard CK to work on Skywind.

2. Have all DLCs would be best

Hi,

Hi,

To get experience so that I can kick it with the developers you have on your team, I am making some simple quest and battle mods. SKSE for Special Edition - I mod SE currently - is in Alpha. Should I/do you use SKSE for mods? Should I start implementing SKSE solutions now or just focus on the innate API's and script objects?

We do use SKSE. It isn't 100%

We do use SKSE. It isn't 100% necessary to get the gist of the programming language, but if you end up working on Skywind you'll have to roll back to the original version of skyrim for that work. (you can have both versions installed via steam)
