Throwing my hat into the ring here on recommendation of a friend.
Made new audition, this is the old one. Please check it out!
Here is my Imperial audition. I have potential access to a better recording space and microphone.
I'm not sure where everyone got their scripts from, So I simply used the sample provided. Here's my shot at an Imperial! I would love feedback on any of my entries over the next day or two. I've been practicing many of the dialects.
Here's my attempt.
Please, I'd appreciate advice.
I don't like this one so much so I'm going to mosey around the site and try out some different ones. I'm going to give this one another go as well, but I'll link it just in case someone somewhere likes it and has some feedback.https://soundcloud.com/geekosuave/lucan-british-very-ish
I have access to better equipment if need be.
my Imperial audition
I tried posting again but I don't think it accepted it. I'm only going to be able to hotlink one, and I guess you can find the rest there or copy-paste it.https://soundcloud.com/geekosuave/just-a-hundredhttps://soundcloud.com/geekosuave/didnt-even-see-if-it-sounds
Male Imperial Battlemage - This is as "Superhero" as I think I can imagine sounding haha
Note: this has been recorded on my webcam. I have a decent mic but it's at my girlfriend's at the moment. If chosen though I can produce studio quality voice (I'm a musician, and have been mixing and mastering for a few years)
Imperial Voice auditions.
Here is my audition for the Imperial - Lucan_Ostorius
another Imperial Audition, all done in one go so there may be verbal errors.
Wanted to delete my post, but it looks like I can just edit it, so here is a few better takes of the random imperial lines. They are labeled with their respective unit lines. As always, feedback is welcome!
Thought that my own voice fits the role of an imperial quite well. :D
First time doing any voice acting, used the sample lines:
Hi there! I had a lot of fun trying to sort out a character for the Imperials. In the end I couldn't decide on one, so I recorded with varying degrees of inflection. I would really appreciate feedback and I plan on auditioning for other races later.
Two flavors of voice here, proper British and a more American spin ... not so good at American but I hope it's ok. :)
I'm new here so take this with a grain of salt.
You could be a little more articulate with your words but that's my only major complaint.
Thought I'd try my hand at a bit of Imperial speech. Hope you find it pleasing.https://soundcloud.com/khelric/imperial-va
Quick audition using the sample script. Slightly less snooty than altmer, a touch more directive, but still RP accent.
Had a go at the sample line!
Here's my imperial audition, hope it passes muster.
Hey, putting in my first audition, for Imperial voicing. Was a quick one just with lines from the start of Morrowind as sample.
Sounds like soundcloud brought the sound down in my headphones, so let me know if you need it boosted to hear.
I did two reads for the Imperial female, one British and one American-SuperHero
Just thought I'd add another voice audition for the Imperial Male. This is a more casual and less "captain of the guard" sound.
I recorded a couple specific characters, and cleaned up the audio using the tips on the new forum.
Man I'd love to attempt.. but I only have headphone mic and I have a bit of Korean accent on my English..
Hello folks! Ben Wilk here, I found out about this project and I decided to do some auditions, I will also put a link to my Vocal Demo here just in case there is a voice that you feel may work for the project.
Feel free to be harsh if needed, as long as it is constructive so that I can try to improve from it.
Best Wishes, Ben.
Hey There! Heres my audition for a male Imperial voice.
Hi. I'm new to the voice acting thing. Hope this is sort of the thing you need. I recorded a bunch of stuff. You may hear some machinery in the background I'm terribly sorry about that but I have to keep an eye on them, and make sure they don't overheat or shut down.
Number one: https://soundcloud.com/viktor-stark-2/lucan-ostorius
Number two: https://soundcloud.com/viktor-stark-2/lucan-2/s-Rm2uP
This one is very fast and one f the machines is going into overdrive: https://soundcloud.com/viktor-stark-2/lucan-3
Here is my audition/re-audition for the Imperials.
I welcome and criticism and or advice and hope I can contribute.
These are a few lines of dialog for Bacola Closcius. If this is close to what you're looking for but would like me to make some changes, please let me know.
Langotriel suggested I give the Imperial a shot, so here you go. In the first take I really ham up the "super hero" sound, but it's toned down in the second.
Tried again for Imperial, hope you like!
Well this is my first ever voice audition. So... Don't be too harsh. I'm quite young too, but yeah.
Very fun to do anyways.

Hello again! Sorry for the files having broken links, I am not sure what happened there. Regardless though allow me to retry with my submissions.
Like I said before please feel free to be harsh if needed, just please be constructive also.
MASS REPLY! MY REPLIES TO AUDITIONS WILL BE SUPER SIMPLE AND BORDERLINE OFFENSIVE TO SOME OF YOU! I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO SUGARCOAT CRITICISM SO TAKE IT LIKE A MAN! (or a strong, independent woman, *snap snap*)
The acting is a little rough and the sound quality is obviously not up to scratch.. but the voices aren't bad. It would be nice to hear you read the available sample lines (in the first post) and go through the proper editing steps to see what you mic is capable of. There seems to be a lot of noise when you speak so there was probably a lot when you recorded.. find a quiet space and record 6-8 inches from your mic. good luck!
not .. terrible. but it sounds like you are doing a parody of the imperials rather than doing an audition for the imperials :P tone down the stuck up attitude a little.. that's more for altmer. Think police officer rather than butler.
First step for you is to get out of the thunderstorm. Lots of noise with a few bumps here and there... we need to hear a little better if we are to accept you.. as far as your voice goes, you sound quite young. It isn't terrible but it ain't something we would use for most imperials. We will need a couple young ones i imagine so shtick around and keep improving!
Close .. and cigar.. but you forgot to light it. You have a nice voice and it is just not too young :P but the sound quality needs to improve. Find a quiet recording space, record 6-8 inches away from the mic and use my audio editing tutorial to help you edit (find it in the new hub thread)... then send me a PM of your clip so i can judge the quality improvement.. we can take it from there.
Nice acting! young sounding voice but with acting like that, you have an edge! The sound quality needs to improve. Look at the message above to know what to do (as in my reply the last guy.. right there^)
Some noise but I think you can handle that. I like your voice... expect a PM
Doesn't sound like an imperial... sounds more like a breton. Besides that it is an ok audition other than the fact that the sound quality is pretty bad. It sounds like you are quite far away from the mic and it sounds like you didn't try to edit it in anyway.. so now you know what to work on before we consider other matter.. get to it my friend!
The sound quality is almost there.. it sounds a little bassy.. might be useful to up the higher frequencies using an EQ or something.. sounds like it is recorded inside a stone dome.. it is hard for me to get across my point but.. yeah.. sound is decent but not perfect... it is missing the high end.
The voice.. well.. It is nice.. sounds a little young. You have some competition among the rest of the young voice actors... we need a couple of you but not all of you so try again and try your best in every department.. sound quality, voice acting and hell.. try to tailor make your voice to suit a character.. whether that means older or younger :P
Well.. The sound quality needs improving.. as you can probably hear yourself. But another problem is.. you sound like you have an accent (or just a really hard time reading the script). If you cannot shake the accent, try going for races that allow for an accent (and help disguise it).. like Nord, khajiit, argonian etc.. if you haven't already, audition for those.. I don't think imperial is for you. when you do audition, clean up your audio using my tutorial. Record 6-8 inches (15-20cm) away from your mic and then find the tutorial on the new hub thread.
hmm... read the message above.. it applies to you too .. :)
Sound quality is way off.. keep that in mind .. it is likely that we will need you to make a small investment for a new mic. Other than that, I feel the audition sounded a little rushed.. imperials are supposed to speak with authority.. make sure the message comes across.. speak clearly!
You trying to flirt with me? no? well then speak with authority.. really get your voice across to the player. You sound a little young so if that is too difficult for you, try breton or nothing at all. Try to fix up your sound quality too.. a tutorial on that can be found in the new hub thread.
Your voice is quite light.. hmm..
Still it isn't that bad.. but it does sound like you were a little far away when recording. 6-8 inches away from your microphone is the general rule... after that edit it a little and volla, a nice fresh clip. You might want to try out for breton.. they could use more of the light voiced english speakers.
A for effort. Unfortunately, i am just not feeling it. you are not an imperial. Try going for breton if you haven't.
The sound quality needs freshening up too.. 6-8 inches from your mic, using simple editing techniques shown in my tutorial.. find it in the new hub thread
nice. The sound needs to be fixed but it doesn't sound like it would be too hard to fix.. I like your voice and love the small quirks that come with it. The acting.. well.. good effort but you are talking a little bit too fast for an imperial ..
Still, it is decent.. expect a PM
Not bad. Sound still needs a little improvement.
Still.. not sure.. I am split.. i think you might be suited for a shopkeep or something.. alright.. expect a PM
Links don't work.
EDIT: the new ones did.
I can barely hear you. what i can hear advertises poor audio quality and not particularly impressive voice acting. this is the kind of audition that just..doesn't inspire me.. I am not sure what you could really do to get to the level we want. Imperial is probably not for you.
I am split. hmm.. It isn't bad but your voice is a little on the high side... sound quality is also a concern. Tell you what, get the sound quality up to scratch and I will take you to the next steps (if that means a small investment then so be it... Samson Gomic is $40 in the US and £30 in the UK from amazon.. you won't find a better mic for the price)
You aren't suited for imperial I don't think.. try out for breton if you haven't already.. that's all i will say.. (audio editing tutorial on the new hub thread)
There is more noise than voice.. this is a huge problem.. whatever mic you were using will need to be replaced. the first thing you need to ask yourself is whether you wanna invest $40 or you have a friend with a decent mic. If the answer is yes, awesome...
After the sound quality is fixed.. well.. the voice needs work. it just ain't that impressive... you sound more like a slightly nervous tough teenager (kinda like.. if the senior high school bully was to ask a pretty girl out to prom)..
That is atleast the impression i get from what i hear (which ain't a lot). Not sure if you would be able to pull off imperial.. or.. anything really... some people aren't meant to do it :/.. but if you still want to try, a new mic is the first step.
you dip in and out of an accent. We can't have that.. for several reasons. If you somehow got past that, the voice itself ain't authoritative at all.. it needs to come across like you really have something to say and you want people to hear it! RAWR!
the sound needs to improve too but let's take babysteps :P
love you <3
" i decided with the character of Lucan Ostorius as a thief shouldn't have a posh accent he should have a voice similar to Delvin Mallory from Skyrim"
You are supposed to speak with an authoritative american accent.. for all imperial auditions. pull off that and you can pull off a variation better suited to a specific character within that race.
Now that you know that your audition is off and much better suited for breton, lets move on to sound quality..
I can hear that you either in a big, an empty or both, room. This needs to change. It also sounds like you are talking a little way away from the mic.. 6-8inches is the key! slap on some editing from my audio editing tutorial and you are golden (find that in the new hub thread)
I like you.. your imperial however is a little.. hmm.. you force it too much.. your voice disappears sometimes after trying to hit low notes.. that is un natural.. real bad asses don't do that.. are you a real bad ass or not? :P
Final judgement.. pretty good but.. maybe not for imperial.. with minor tweaks this could suit quite a few bretons (on the other hand.. with a few tweaks this would suit imperials as well).. fine.. damnit man... expect a PM
some mispronounciations and you sound a little .. modern? hard to explain what modern means.. but your voice just doesn't sound like it belongs. after some consideration i would recommend you try for a race that disguises your voice a little.. like khajiit or argonian... go for it!
in and out accent and you don't speak clearly enough. on top of that the sound needs some cleaning up (tutorial can be found on the new hub thread)
Try going for a race that disguises whatever accent it is you have.. in a way it doesn't even sound like an accent.. just.. that you read it differently :P either way, it doesn't suit imperial.. so you might as well try other races if you haven't.
You seem to fluctuate between tones of voice... might be a side effect of a bubbly personality but i don't know. Whatever the case is, an unconsistent voice type is not good.. try to nail down the authoritative american in you (everyone has it)
You are a breton more than you are an imperial. If you haven't try for breton. (you sound too nice for an imperial :P.. that is just the way your voice is XD )
love you <3
@scarsymmetry (new audition)
I like your voice. the acting is a tiny bit lazy sounding.. but that is only a minor problem.. the more glaring issue is the sound.. try to clean it up a little and then send me a PM with a freshened up clip.. k? k.
hmm.. it doesn't fall into the category we are trying to create but at the same time.. it sounds like it could be used.. I want to hear the sound quality you could "potentially" get .. let's hear it! (PM me a clip with it)
Love you <3
A little on the young side. I am not saying no but i am saying that you have competition. I want to hear another audition but really give it your all and freshen up the sound as much as you can (tutorial on that in the new hub thread)
well.. your auditions weren't bad but i feel like you would be better suited for orc after some editing.. the imperial isn't quite there... you know? if you haven't, post for orc ;)
oh... oh ... well then :P I like your voice.. it is a little light but i feel a bunch of that is due to the mic. Your main focus now is to aquire a new microphone from somewhere.. with decent quality i am sure we could use you. Samson Gomic is the cheapest you could buy that we would accept and for the money, it can't be beaten.
MAAAAAAN.. damnit... you are like.. SO CLOSE and yet.. it just isn't quite there. focus on honeing the authoritative american in you! ..really try and go for it! remember to speak clearly as some of your auditions have you mumbling at certain points... almost there man! this is the home stretch!
This isn't bad.. 1 thing though.. stop with the music. I need to hear your microphone on its own and refuse to accept you before i have heard it... sorry.
You ooze breton. we have so many imperials to choose from that you would be an easier sell as a breton.. go audition for one if you haven't already..
make sure we get a recording with your better mic.. it frankly a little annoying to have to listen to people's recordings again just for sound quality.. I am 1 guy .. i don't have time to give everyone 5 chances.. it would be nice of you to keep that in mind going forward.. an audition should be your best shot, not my gf has my mic so here is this for now.. when going to a job interview, you wouldn't go half dressed saying, "don't worry.. my other clothes are at my gfs place" .. you know? it doesn't matter to me.. I will wait til you have your clothes! ..
Sorry about the rant. just.. dis-heartening to see people come on saying here is a thing, i can do a lot better than this but i decided not to cause.. you know.. f*** you!
good luck though!
nice. expect a PM
voice ain't bad. the sound quality is though.. that needs to be fixed. If a purchase is something you don't mind (does not guarantee you a space) a samson Gomic is the cheapest and best option on a budget. In a decent recording space (quiet, small room.. inside a car is ideal) and some light editing, it is really impressive.
Get to it.. convince me that you have what it takes! good luck!
The voice isn't bad :)
The sound quality needs work.. a lot of work. a small investment is probably your best way there. Samson Gomic is your best option on a budget and will produce decent results in a good recording space with light editing (tutorial on that on the new hub thread)
you know what to do! :)
not the worst audition. the sound quality needs to be improved. record 6-8 inches from your mic and then edit the sound using my tutorial (find a link on the new hub thread)
as far as the voice goes.. it isn't bad... not sure if we can really use it but it will be easier to judge with better sound. get to it!
I really like your voice... you get what we are going for. the sound needs to be improved though. PM me your specs and we can sort something out.. you are almost there!
I would say stick to where you are best suited: breton and altmer. not saying it is bad but we have people to choose from and we are looking for more of an american flavour
love you <3
this needs slight improvements but it isn't far off.. already have you on skype so.. we will discuss it there.
good effort. Your acting could need some work though. i can also hear your room.. record 6-8 inches from the mic and edit your audio to clean it up.. if by chance, you did all that already.. you need a new mic. get one and i am sure we could find a space for you
not far off.. but the authoritative voice is only half way there.. try to really come across as a man in charge!
your audition upload didn't work.. your reel did though. I gather that you are from the UK.. at least you aren't american. Try for breton or high elf as i think you are probably better suited there.. breton need more than altmer though so you will have most luck there. :)
EDIT: alright. hmm.. it isn't bad actually. whatever you did kinda worked.. you do mumble slightly though which is not what we want for imperial.. speaking clearly is important.. I think that won't be a massive problem and i like your orc :P expect a PM
Not bad.. before i say yes or no, try again with a little more autority in your voice!
Well you do seem to really try.. and despite the .. off the beaten path audition, it isn't bad. Now i want you to focus on sound quality.. record 6-8 inches from your microphone and use my editing tutorial to help you clean the sound up (find it in the new hub thread)
Good luck! (send me the new clip in a PM)
I..I... LOVE your voice. sound will need editing but.. we can help you with that. expect a PM
yeah.. alright.. ok..yup.. mhmm.. expect a PM
right. We have no need for you at the moment.. you are not suited for adult roles and right now we have not decided whether to implement children into the game.. if we do decide to do that, it will be done at a later date... come back in a few months and see how things are coming along.. right now though, there is no space for you to fill.. sorry.
A more authoritive audition as you requested.
also a more I don't know laid back one as well? Less guard like at any rate .
Here's my audition using your lines, hope it fits, it completely bare without any effects and I have a decent set up so hopefully you will get a good idea of what I can do.
My Imperial submission. Thanks very much!
Not auditioning for any specific character, so I just recorded Lucan Ostorius' lines as an example.
Here's my audition for Imperials.
Reading off Apelles Matius.
I've always wanted to try this, so i found some random imperial line and tried it out!
Not my best work but here is my version of imperial.
Hi! I'm new at this, but I've always wanted to be a voice actor. I would love any kind of feedback.
I have 3 different versions of the same line:
This is my Imperial audition....I added two more tracks using the sample lines. The second track is more for fun.
Here is my imperial audition:
Sure, I'll give it a go with the sample line:
