My name is FrenchieD! I am presently a student, my Major is in Computer Sciences, I've focused on Development/ Software Engineering thus far. My course projects have thus far been scripted and I just kind of follow along. Typical American school garbage. I want to do some hands on coding, and started looking for open source work. After helping on a few other projects I found this, on YouTube of all places.
What can I do? What do I know?:
I'm no prodigy, I mean, I'm awesome and I am a very quick learner, but I'm not a super star genius coder. Security and exploitation is more my forte. However, I am proficient in C/C++ and PHP. I have seen many threads asking for pascal coders: haven't played on this battle field as of yet, but it says it is an introductory to Object Oriented Coding, so I think I'll be good in a few days. I am stellar in X-code and XDA (iOS and Android code), but that really doesn't help us here.
Why do I want to do this?
Marrowind is one of my all time favorite games (ties with Final Fantasy 7). I would love to be a part of this project, I still play Marrowind. Just a few months ago I smashed through the game during winter break.
I know, typically you choose small projects to build your portfolio... What can I say? I love this game and want to see it brought into a new era.
What have I done thus far?
I helped develop and test the OUYA gaming device. I suggested we include PLEX or XMBC at launch, but no one listened. So I helped re-code the software to include XBMC. If you want an awesome front end Media Center that can also play games, I suggest you get one. I have worked on a few other projects, Screen Display, OPEN VPN (XDA), Display Recorder, and was the one to originally crack AIM to allow SMS to phone numbers way back in the day. That explot gave me a FAT pay out hahah. I have sold countless exploits and patches to companies.
What is my true goal?
Umbra. I want to fix Umbra. When I was a lad, I found this Orc wearing Samurai Gear. I was a low level and every time I fought this guy he would destroy me! The way it should be. Except I found that If you lead him into the village and step on the walls with the canopied roof he would spaz out and just stand there while you speared him to death. I've always wanted to fix Umbras patterns. He's to awesome to die like that. If someone wants to steal his sick armor, they should have to really really work at it.
