[WIP] Heart of Lorkhan

Hey guys, I'm thinking of doing the Heart of Lorkhan as my next creature. However, I have a problem and that problem is that I no idea what its made; is it rock or is it organic i just can't tell. I read the wiki articles and found this forum discussion but that's about it.                    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore_talk:Heart_of_Lorkhan

Well, a quote in "Kagrenac's

Well, a quote in "Kagrenac's Tools" states that it is a Stone. A big magical Stone.
However in the game it looks pretty fleshy, however I suppose that's just to appease to the whole name of "Heart".

No it's pretty clearly made

No it's pretty clearly made of stone, just the color and such makes it look fleshy.

Maybe it's a bit of both. It's made of stone, but moves and acts like flesh.

maybe just use a fleshy heart

maybe just use a fleshy heart base, then desaturate it a bit and add in some stone cracks and such?

at the very least, start by

at the very least, start by sculpting a heart, very high quality.
but in the end we could fossilise it , and make the veins glow. also kinda dissapointed in the size of it in original game, surely it would be bigger than a car at least?

Yep, I've already made a pretty nice heart base already...getting the details right have been a little bit tricky but I like this idea and the artwork.

Just to clarify for Oriviath,

Just to clarify for Oriviath, whenever a "Stone" is mentioned with a capital S in TES lore, it is not meant as an actual  stone. It's kind of complicated, but the Stones are really important things that help make really, really important "Towers" work (which aren't actual towers). The Amulet of Kings, for instance, is the Stone of the White-gold Tower. Some believe the Eye of Magnus to be the Stone of the Throat of the World (yes, the entire mountain is also a Tower). Keep that in mind.

Uh,  guys... you do realize

Uh,  guys... you do realize the Heart of Lorkhan isn't actually made of stone, right? It's the Stone of Red Tower, but it's not an actual  stone. There are no sources at all that would lead anyone to believe that it's made of rock.

Yes, I have. And the consensus was "yeah it's stone because I said so".  Can anyone here provide a single reference to any in-game source ever stating that the Heart is actually made of stone?

Seriously, guys, do some research. I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but why not ask the Bethesda Lore Forum if you have even the smallest doubt about something? It's not that hard.

we are remaking morrowind in

we are remaking morrowind in our image, so it doesn't exactly need to be completely lore friendly, small things like the material of the heart doesn't matter to me as long as it looks good, and fits in with the story line. :)

by the way we have more critics on this site than we do actual workers, and we aren't being paid to make this either.

TheMaskedFelon, kindly turn

TheMaskedFelon, kindly turn down the doucheness. There's no source that specifically says it's not made of stone either, and just look at the thing in TES3, it's clearly stone-like in appearance, even with the organic-looking bits in the texture. Hence, best course is to have it look more or less like stone, but still move organically.

What a heart made of stone!?

What a heart made of stone!? Have you not heard the saying "you cant squeeze blood from stone"? Its because you cant do it. How does stone move? Ridiculous.

Joking, touchy subject. Looks good to me just make sure you produce the model Shushine so we can look forward to your next little project.

Hey, MaskedFelon sorry i

Hey, MaskedFelon sorry i can't fulfill all your lore needs but you need to jump in the forums earlier because i not going to redesign my whole model....However, if you want to learn modeling and spend nice bit of cash and then model us a heart its okay by me.
