Here's a couple of presumably dunmer costumes based off some of the sketches I've shown at Concept Artists Unite topic. These are linen and leather. Can be something like ornamented silk too, for a more "noble" look (can do alterations to these images for variety - tell me if it's needed)
I've attached the high-res original files here. And sorry for the lousy edges - I've cropped them right from the gray background I've been working on (I almost always do merge all the layers)
These have helped create more ideas for the clothing system, awesome work :D
These are really nice Hieronymus7Z, and will be a source of material for actually making clothes.
Instant contributor, smart stuff. Trust me if you draw the clothes, we will make.
Vivec's Palace. New details are obviously very few (well, just a couple, to be precise), as I tried to keep the most of the original look and feel.
Probably the most significant feature here is a little "anteroom" with little places for offerings in corners. It stands before the stairway, which itself has three smaller stairways on each of the sides.
Generally, this place is there for folks to leave the offerings and stand there, hoping for an audience with the place owner. If not for this chamber, people would what - wait right by the door, knocking? After the tiresome ascent too? So yep.
The second image here is an addition suggested by Dragomir - the planets outlook. As the one seen on the original sketch by Michael Kirkbride.
achingly beautiful. really hope we can fit in the structure on the top right
What if: every siltstrider on the Vvardenfell was unique?
Finally having a bit of a spare time, I present you a few sketches of the crits. Plus a cover-baggage holder idea
Be welcome to share your thoughts
Im in love with the cover idea!!!!!!
I'm loving absolutely everything in this thread.
The dunmer clothes are probably my favorite - they are so spot-on and unique. Elven style with a clear desert influence; they are fantastic!
A couple of possibly rideable guars and a siltstrider\insect-like mount. I intend on sketching up a few more guars - any particular ideas, anyone? (:
You could have a pack guar, so like one with bags and other stuff tied to it on either side, and maybe a lantern attached to it too. It could be for traveling merchants.
Its very awesome concept for striders - they always looks to me some unconfortable.
I, for one, support the crap out of this. I want me a war guar!
in development is a pack guar, a herd guar, a cloud strider transport.
If we copied the system of the mounted boar with riekling, we could create war guar
I knew I wouldn't be the only one to get that idea :D I'd love the Redoran watchmen to patrol roads around Ald'Ruhn and Maar Gan.
A few quick sketches for what is to be Dagoth Ur fortress\stronghold - these are mainly to get a relatively clear view on what the placing of the thing would be like (the idea was suggested by Dragomir).
All the rock formations and the structure itself are, no doubt, to be redone\improved.
That building, I'd say, is just a placeholder - just the first thing I doodled out.
So yep - will definitely do more on this thing.
And as always am open for suggestions
That is bloody awesome :D
A bit more on the Dagoth Ur fortress.
About the guars and all the other stuff - it's not forgotten! Will do more
Awesome work Hieronymus! Can't wait to see that stuff in the game :D
Really cool, how about to add sth similar like that in the place of entrance. Of course without stars.
Thanks for the picture, lukkar, great reference. I've already been thinking about the sizes and will be sure to implement that somehow. But damn, that and what I have planned for the place is quite massive - hopefully the Red Mountain model will have enough room for all that.
Here comes the Dagoth.
Better start with the resident, than the residence, I thought.
definitely one of your best <3
I love it! Especially the second variant. Now he looks very noble and rich indeed.
That's awesome! I like the cloth on the second version that continues down to his loin cloth, but I also feel like it makes him look shorter or something? Maybe because it's covering up his swole stomach.
A bit more on the fortress
A very work-in-progress piece for the Dagoth Ur
Some Vivec City planning
Very minor lockpicking stuff, Ravanna issued a while ago
And the Boots of Blinding Speed, for Rav too
@ I would love to see some spiky rocks around Dagoth Ur entrance :) And about probes and picks which one are master, regular one etc.?
An attempt to show what I envision Dagoth's domain like - basically an overpaint of the territory map, trying to picture the "heightmap" I have in mind.
And a wip of the illustration depicting the Dagoth Ur volcano
a couple loose armor ideas - one of something hlaaulu-ish and other sort of telvanni. Ish
All of the Red Mountain stuff is absolutely amazing. I'm also liking the Hlaalu clothing style. I hope this will be referenced by the modelers and make it come to life :)
Cliff Racer with a blighter counterpart on the right.
Those tiny legs on Ravanna's model were bugging me quite a bit - I already have a couple sitting positions for these guys in mind, yet to be sketched out.
Just wish someday it all could be implemented (speaking of animationz).
The blighted one is gory indeed - guess it's a bit of a dark fantasy here with a bit of some retro stuff (color-wise. you know, golden axe - with darker enemies being stronger and such).
"Racer Plumes", the feathers, are to be harvested off it's head.
there were 2 reasons we added legs.
1. Realism, biologically speaking.
2. Perching like the dragon its based on. we can try without, but wont be building new cliffy until early next year.
regardless, this design is way better than the one i did. love it.
I assumed the legs were added for the animation purposes, as it was to be "bound" to the dragon skeleton and sure yes, flying creature with at least a couple legs is far more realistic than the ever-flying ones from the original - every living thing should rest from time to time.
Yet still - it'd feel out of place quite a bit, to see the pretty "iconic" creatures look different this much.
By all this I'm not saying that this other cliff racer of yours isn't good - It would actually be awesome to see a few versions of some crits in the finished thing.
I'll hopefully upload a couple sketches for the poses later today.
And thanks, Rav (:
A way around this could be using another dragon animation. Maybe the dragon ground combat stance, since the dragon/cliffracer is 'kneeling' on his wings.
Another way would be making the chest-finn longer. that way it looks like the cliffracer is resting on the chest finn.
Beautiful work H7Z.
Finished the dagoth ur location piece I ought to get done quite a while ago. Higher res is on the deviantartHoping I'll be somewhat more active here this time around.
Good to see you back in action Hieron! Great piece like always. I'm not exactly sure which concepts are needed at the moment. If you haven't done so already, you might wanna have a chat Drago.
this art is the beez-kneez, you made me drop my coffee, that sucked, but hey, any art good enough to make a tired person drop their coffee, must be some sort of god.
