I'm about 50% done with "M", it's taking a while due to the ridiculous amount of generic npcs (marauders, mages etc.), and I've also been kind of busy. I'll probably have it done sometime within the next week.
How far has development come? Like how long do you think until its playable? Also how will you implement degradation of armor and weapons? And i think you should ask the maker of the mod Heavy Armory if you can use some of that mods models
I'm a longtime fan of the Elder Scrolls, and I've been following these projects for a while now. If there is anything I can do on my computer that does not require too many skills (and that you can tell me how to do), such as converting character appearances from Oblivion to Skyblivion, I'm all in. Sorry I don't have much to offer, but I'd like to help in any way possible. Whether you want my help or not, I appreciate what you guys are doing and can't wait to see the final projects! Tell me if you have a job for me

Hey all, I'm looking to get involved in helping out with Skyblivion. A few initial questions:
What's the verdict on facial hair for NPCs? Oblivion originally didn't have facial hair, but I feel if we want to eventually replace all of the other assets, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to reinterpret some NPCs with facial hair. The vanilla hairs in Skyrim don't have perfect matches to the hairs in Oblivion anyway, regardless.
The OP is up-to-date on what's done and what still needs to be done, yeah? I can help out with facegen, some interior work, and building leveled lists. (are we going for classic Oblivion leveled lists where anything goes, or more leveled lists and leveled actors more along the lines of Skyrim?)
Quick update: working on "D" now, taking forever because there's about 100 Dark Seducers and 100 Dremora that have to be done along with all the other NPCs. Done with everything except the Seducers.
Edit: also quick question, does anyone know when navmeshing will start?
Anyone who has access to Skyblivion can do it, so either you get a contributor status (don't ask me how, I'm not the one giving it) or wait for a public release. If facegen can be finished before new year, I'll try to release this year too.
All exteriors, maybe starting with cities. The problem is I don't know how to merge navmeshing, so you'll need to keep doing it in a single plugin, not a separate one for each city or region.
So, are you changing everything into the Skyrim engine? Because I think it's important to take into account the things in Oblivion that made it unique, such as the armor and weapons. Truly, graphics and gameplay are the only things that need renewal, yes? I went back to play it a few months ago and had to stop on the sole aspect of having no shield bash action... I just think that people would get mad if you basically made another Skyrim but in the Oblivion World and Map. Also, account for the 200 year gap in between Skyrim and Oblivion. The weapons and armor would be different. Anyways, just some thoughts from a fan of you're guys' work. And honestly, what you guys have been doing is quite amazing. Personally, I think Oblivion has the best story to it out of all the games, and part of that comes from the individual, unique details in the map, story, weapons, and armor construction, besides graphics. But, naturally, better graphics and gameplay would totally make that game one of the best. Thanks for what you guys are doing!!
@Niksa yes its free and I will put your name on the spreadsheet.
@bobafett131 thank you for your work so far and your name is taken of the letters you claimed but didnt finish.
in general the spreadsheet has been updated so if you have been working on a letter for over a month let me know if you are still active and willing to finish it.
I'll claim U. It's a small one, but I will see how it goes and then decide if I'm gonna do the rest or not.
EDIT: I have finished and I'll claim K. Another small one, but I'm hoping to do A afterwards. I've skipped Uriel Septim as I thought someone else would be doing that.
Im so sorry about that, I made a mistake ''updating'' the spreadsheet 3 days ago and restored it to a previous version, I thought I had added all progress but must have missed these. I have updated the spreadsheet and all should be up to date 20/12/2014.
Hey guys, I'd love to help out with the so to say "pre-production" of this mod and I want know what it takes to just convert all the gear from Oblivion to Skyrim (Figured I'd might as well do that since no one else has started it) and how to do it, all help would be appreciated!
By "gear" do you mean armour/weapons? I'm converting armour/clothes and weapons (weapons are done).
I would like help with converting armour, I could do it by myself, but it would get it done a lot quicker if I had someone else helping me, it's quite the time consuming process. Especially when you have two sets of the same armour (One for males, one for females).
If you can't do any of these things, I can teach you if you want.
But main skills are that you know how to use 3ds MAX 2012 and the creation kit.
Finally finished "D" facegen. Took forever due to me not having much free time, but anyway here it is. Also the spreadsheet doesn't have "M" which is also done and in an earlier post.
In case someone is interested, the new scripting conversion tool is able to parse over 90% of oblivion scripts and compile about 50-60% of them, I expect that maybe within two months I will be able to share something more ;)
Finished "H". That leaves "A", "G", and "V" still unfinished. I'll take "G" since its the only unclaimed one left. Also "D" and "M" have been done for a while and need to be marked as such in the spreadsheet. Files will be up very soon, I just need to finish exporting the facegen files.
Edit: Okay files are up. Also I'm pretty sure the folder format is messed up for the previous letters I did. Not sure how much that matters.
As I mentioned earlier, I'd need someone to collect all the facegen files and plugins, check them in game for grey faces and oddities, and make a single package I can merge. Nothing takes more time than later fixing wrong merged values manually. That's why before I run automatic batch merging on hundreds on NPCs, I need some quality check.
I'm doing A, but the progress is really slow due to busy irl stuff. By the end of February I should be ready (I'm free next week= extra time to work on facegen).
updated the spreadsheet (also added D/M sry Rovan) and Im currently downloading and collecting all facegen so I can quality test them.
Also ''V" has been moved to unclaimed since Ive heard nothing from Niksa and its been over 2 months.
Rovan, if you wish, you can take A. Your work is clearly more efficient than mine and I have to admit you create better npc's. I think I'll un-claim A, sorry guys. If you need any of my npc's I already 'baked', just ask.
Nice, another step done
getting closer and closer,
Ive been away for a while so sorry for not updating the sheets. I will check, update and fix the spreadsheet right now.
I'm about 50% done with "M", it's taking a while due to the ridiculous amount of generic npcs (marauders, mages etc.), and I've also been kind of busy. I'll probably have it done sometime within the next week.
Nice that facegening is not dead... yet
take your time! Im just glad your still on it :)

There's a degradation mod on nexus for Skyrim:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55677
Finally finished "M". Posting them here and in my post above.
The more I do this the more I hate the potato faces the original Oblivion had. :P
Anyways I'll do "K" next, it's nice and short.Nvm, that's been done already.
Nice

I guess I'll start working on that some too then. Any particular place I should start?

Its like the same post asking the same stuff shows up every week now a days...
I will claim FaceGen NPC letter 'V' if it is free
Hey guys, I've been inactive for quite a while now, so any of the facegening assigned to me is now free for anyone here to do. Thanks.
@Niksa yes its free and I will put your name on the spreadsheet.
@bobafett131 thank you for your work so far and your name is taken of the letters you claimed but didnt finish.

Both of those are finished already.
Really? They weren't marked on the spreadsheet as completed...
EDIT: oh,you're right, well I've learned something new then.

Naaah, it's noting. Can I claim A? I've strolled trough the forums and I don't think this one was already claimed.

@yazza2013 There are some helper tools available, but I don't know what they do exactly and if they could help you.
@Rovan3011 Thx, getting closer and closer

Awesome!
I'm slowly crawling at flora and a bit of fauna too using available resources.
good stuff!
