As we all know as Skywind stands right now every character in the game has no outfit to wear except for the Guards and few others and I know that the developers of Skywind have a program that is going to take what is in a character's inventory and turn it into an outfit but that may be a long ways down the road so I am making a mod that gives every character and outfit right now.
This is a Multi-Master File Mod. You will need Skyrim and all the DLCs for it to work. I am not wasting my time in doing this. In fact it is giving me a scope of how large the Skywind project really is.
For example most Morrowind characters wear a combo of clothing and armor. Like Common Shoes, Expensive Pants and a Netch Leather Cuirass. Well all of those are going to have to be created if the developers want to stick to Morrowind Lore. Another thing about original Morrowind is that you could wear some clothing and armor at the same time so if the developers are going to make that possible it will definitely be a challenge.
Skywind is a very long ways from being complete and doing a mod like this has given me an appreciation of what the developers are doing to make it all possible. I know that my mod will become useless probably when they release another version of Skywind but we are talking about right now.
I want to be able to explore the land with characters fully clothed. As I mentioned this is a Multi-Master Mod that requires Skyrim and all the DLCs. Why? Because the goal of this mod is to give each character an outfit without having to create new outfits.
Ok you've got some characters wearing Chitin Armor for an outfit. The only place you can get a Chitin Outfit is the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim. I am using Skyrim and DLC Outfits for this project as there are only a handful of Skywind Outfits mostly for Guards created in the Skywind.esm file. To make the Creation Kit able to load Multiple Masters there is a line of code you can add to the SkyrimEditor INI file that will allow this.
I've stripped Skywind into loose files totally and I think that is why I don't crash when I load all those Masters but it still takes somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes just to load up the mod. I've been on the project for 2 days now doing a little at a time and have made it into the Gs. Yes this is going to take a while and I am going to test it out by going to different areas of Skywind to see these outfits in action.
When I choose an outfit I base it very loosely on what is in the character's inventory. Sometimes I get the perfect outfit and other times it is way off from what I see in the inventory. For example a character may be wearing one pair of boots, another pair of pants etc. that don't match so I just have to go with something LOL! Anyways I think you get the big picture here.
When the mod is complete and fully tested by me for functionality I will release it and as I said it could become obsolete over night. Who knows. But I am having fun and have a new sense of appreciation for what the developers of Skywind are doing to bring us players this wonderful renewal of Morrowind.
