Skyblivion trees and grass


Install and endorse latest GKB green tree mod (ver 6900:

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19268) copy only meshes/landscape and textures/landscape files, then overwrite with my mod.

I made my own tree mod but

I made my own tree mod but instead of just changing the nif path to the new tree, mine hand place almost all the tree in cyrodiil places

instead of all the willow trees being the same. there's alot more variety in the trees more resizes and what not it also adds grass. and many other thing but. I haven't finished it yet. So, yeah

@suade: you must have another mod conflicting because normally there are a lot more trees. The grass was a converted version of the original from oblivion but it seems it doesn't work, can't find why :/

As for the trees mod I hope it's just a temporary version before we have the real trees converted by SB, it will be much better...

yes, the grass is very lush but it's the original from oblivion, I haven't changed anything

Wait you converted over the Oblivion grass?  That's a great idea!  I can't really test your mod out at the moment (I haven't bothered to reinstall Skyblivion after my Skyrim reinstall), but when I can this will be one of the first mods I add.

normally it's the original

normally it's the original meshes (and the original data given by the converter), but sometimes it's unnecessarily lush and big, and some grass are swaying very fast. Maybe it's the engine that handles that differently, it will need to be fixed in the future (if you want to modify it go ahead)...

Hey, Anthelius.  First off,

Hey, Anthelius.  First off, I'd like to say that the grass is awesome,  but it definitely needs some work.  The animations are messed up I think, and It lags my computer way more than it should.  It also is a bit too lush.

Anyway, I hope you can get those problems sorted out, because this is something we definitely want as soon as possible in Skyblivion.

Edit:  I just noticed what was wrong with the animations.  The grass isn't actually swaying like it should.  Instead it is just moving to the sides.  Is there anyway you could just use the Skyrim grass animation perhaps?

thanks for testing ; ), yes some grass models seems to "roll on the floor" instead of swaying normally, I think that could be fixed easily in the CK by reducing the amplitude (and also the density to prevent lag) but I'll wait for the new master before doing anything...

Oblivion original grass updated to work with skyblivion reborn (you don't need the previous pack). The density has been tweaked so it won't kill your fps anymore ; ).

I can try if I have time in the next week, but I don't promise anything (the last time I've tried to convert an armor it has been a huge polygon gangbang so I don't know if I will have more success with hair^^).

And I don't know if we should release it in the main mod because if you have to many hairs it can crash the showracemenu, I know there is a skse plugin for this now, but maybe we could add them as wigs to the npcs (using the helmet slot)?

Didn't know that about the hairs.  But if there is a skse plugin for it, we simply need to require it.  If skywind is going to require skse, there is no reason skyblivion shouldn't.

Don't worry about it if you can't though.  I just think it would be kind of cool, and helpful for anyone making NPCs.

No, Oblivion's hair, not hair modders created for Oblivion that they then converted over.  Very different things. :)

Though those mods do at least prove that it is very possible to convert hair.

The fix for ShowRaceMenu crash

This mod allows you to have many hairs and not crash the game, i guess it can be used or something if you guys have alot of hairs. (Skyrim hairs + Oblivion default hairs, etc)

i see some grass ingame when i deactivate skyrim flora overhaul but i´m not sure if i´m not missing most of it... could´nt find that lush grass on your screenshot yet.

Now it should be possible to replace all those aspen trees and generate a tree lod for them.

I know, that's the version used in those screenshots. I'm trying to find the most appropriate trees, is it possible to use both them and scotch pines from SFO? they both have lod but not the same atlas (in other words can we use 2 atlas at the same time if we rename the second?)

The screenshot in #8 has been taken on the gold coast near anvil, and for the grass just use the link in #18.

Some trees are still hard to replace though (redwood, snowgum, ginkgo, east hemlock...), hope gkb will continue to expand his mod.

You'll need to manually tweak atlas (and nifs?) to combine trees from different atlases, so better to avoid it.

Some trees are indeed hard to replace, but everything is better than aspen trees anyway.

The new cypresses are great too (too bad the textures are so low res : /)

If you want I can make a version with only vanilla and gkb trees if you can generate the lod.

I tried and it looks really great, the only problem is that I have lines of flying trees on the north, east, west and south of cyrodiil and behind them there is no tree lod anymore, like if all those trees have been put on the same axis. How can I fix it?

Run tree lod patcher script in TES5Edit, it is a bug in CK (and rerun it after each lod generation in CK).

Is it me, or lod textures for trees are too dark? I mean they are almost black in the distance, maybe apply some brightness to atlas.

I was able to install the

I was able to install the trees and shrubs no problem (and they look phenomenal), but the grass is stubbornly refusing to show up in my game. My framerate has gone down since installing the grass plugin, but I've noticed no other change and nothing I've tried has been successful so far :/
