Personal project, my ported armour.

Hey guys,

So I just learned how to port armour, I will eventually be completing all of them. I just thought I'd post some screen shots for people to see.

The only Bugs at the moment are random shadows on the armour, and the armour stats not scaling up with level (probably a creation kit bug) if anyone can help me fix these problems, the armour will be finished quicker.

Some of em kinda need
Some of em kinda need tweaking. Never realisedit but the glass armor was goofy as hell. Lol . Imperial armor is great but I think we have high definition textures that can be applied now that would better suit the armors.

Looks awesome! Are you porting as a separate parts like in Oblivion? Anyway, PM alexb,  he already has a system ready for separate armors.

They are all separate meshes if that's what you're asking (Like the shoulder pads, arms, skirt, torso and greaves).

I have it set up like Skyrim, where the cuirass and greaves are joined, then you have boots, helmet and gauntlets.

I think for now, I should use Vanilla textures, just to increase compatibility. If the user wants high res textures, they are free to do that themselves.

We want to preserve armors as

We want to preserve armors as separate parts. There are 2 reasons for that

1) Combining parts means all leveled lists, inventories, containers, scripts, etc. must be updated since 2 different items are combined into 1, so unused entries must be removed and everything updated too accordingly. Considering the sheer size of Skyblivion, and our desire to make it compatible with mods of Oblivion nexus, this task can become a hell and the source of errors and incompatibilities with mods.

2) To use original textures, since there are a lot of armor texture replacers for Oblivion available on nexus.

AlexanderB already converted some armors as a separate parts to test, he has skeleton ready for that and knows technical details, just doesn't have enough time. That's why he is the right person to contact.

p.s. need to find any admin here to promote you to contributor, since I incluled some of your weapons into Skyblivion already. If you can cover armors too, that would be simply great and another big milestone in Skyblivion development.
