Concentrate on exterior

Concentrate on exterior worldspaces first please. They have more representation than individual interior cells. Besides it is much easier to split navmeshing jobs later for interiors than trying to share worldspace navmeshing jobs.

I'm aiming for late March or early April public release. If you can navmesh exteriors in remaining time, that would be great. Already finished with collisions and LODs for SI trees, moving onto Tamriel flora... then facegen... then armours integration... then navmeshes if ready, then... release?

I'm not 100% sure I could have the entire tes4tamriel worldspace done by then. What i could do however is work on getting all of the roads and paths connected to the city load doors and the road-connected POIs done. Then adding the preferred pathing. That would make sure that NPCs/Followers could walk between towns and villages and navigate around most outdoor camps/dungeon exteriors. I could then return to those cells later that were left out.

There are vast areas of exterior cells with no markers in them which is probably about 1/2 of all cells that need navmeshing. Does this sound like a good idea to you guys?

Not worth it if involves additional implications. Just navmesh in the most convenient way to you. Having navmesh for public release is not the aim at all, that's why I said *if*. Besides early April could turn into late May for example

I think his are all auto generated, while mine have been fixed and path tested. I'm in a group PM with him, Devolved and Rcwalker. Cryogen has done an excellent job and I'm not detracting from his work at all. The intention of his work, is to get the basics working, and then fix it later. Which is much quicker. I'm moving on to the imperial city exteriors now.

Since all NAVM records are linked to a single huge NAVI one, copying them outside of CK is not viable. I don't say it is impossible, but figuring out all the quirks and testing will most likely take more time than doing them from scratch.

Cryogen did all interiors in one esp file, is there a way to separate them by city? So that each city has it's own interiors plugin?

You can try to remove unwanted cells with TES5Edit, then load in CK and resave so it'll fix missing NAVI links. Should work in theory.

Hey again. Just finished Talos Plaza District of Imperial City. I'm uploading the esp, in case someone wants to take a look at it. Yazza at some point will attach it to his post related to the IC anyways so it stays organized.

Edit: Arena District is also done, and I'd like to claim the Arcane University for now.

Edit 2: Arcane University done.

Edit 3: I've just corrected some navmeshing and doormarkers and added prefered path to both Bruma (made by Rovan3011) and Anvil (made by Turn2TES).

Edit 4: I've done navmeshing for two small worldspaces that aren't the priority really, but it might save time in the future: The Bloated Float At Sea and the Temple of The Emperor Zero. I've also made corrections to Bravil (made by RCWalker) too. Thanks very much to RCWalker, Rovan3011 and Turn2TES for the work on the 3 cities by the way!

Edit 5: Ok, I think I've reached the limit of edits in one post, but while navmesh-testing some cities ingame, I noticed that there was something weird going on with two main roads in Bravil. I should've noticed it before, sorry, but I fixed it anyway, so I am replacing it's esp in this post, and in the spreadsheet.

Thanks for the spreadsheet, Devolved, now that we are more organized it will make things a lot easier =) Everybody has been doing an amazing work!

Do you know if anything has been done with Oblivion planes or other quests' worldspaces yet? I don't know much about them so I've just put them to be claimed (btw, orange in the spreadsheet means it's up to be claimed!).

The worldspace is up for grabs I believe, as is the "other" list of worldspaces.

@Harrock Good to see that someone is working on Chorrol! I've taken Leyawiin, so with both of these finished the work on the cities' worldspaces is done (except for a few IC districts left). Just remember to talk to Yazza so you guys can decide whether you use Enter_77's esp to put his work on the interiors to use or not =)

Well looks like you need to start merging all navmeshes into a single file using Version control in CK. It should be a separate esm file with only Skyrim.esm and Skyblivion.esm being it's masters (there is a limit of 2 masters in version control). This means no Update.esm, and if anyone made his plugin with update.esm checked, it should be removed first from masters of esp using "Clean Masters" in TES5Edit.

All current active navmeshers will get regular updates of that esm and continue navmeshing using it. When everything is done and all navmeshes are in a single esm, it will be directly merged into Skyblivion.esm.

So decide who will learn using CK's Version control and clean plugins with TES5Edit if necessary before merging  Hint: not me, I'm severely out of time lately.

I haven't used version control in the CK as of yet but i'm willing to have a crack at it. I can also perform the cleaning and the merges.

Before that I think we have to evaluate some of the navmeshes that we have duplicates for and pick the best ones to work with going forwards.

So:

  1. Finish initial pass of all interiors and exteriors
  2. Select best of duplicates
  3. Clean all .esps
  4. Merge into SkyblivionNavmeshes.esm (or something) with Skyrim.esm and Skyblivion.esm as masters
  5. Count that as the stable .esm for people to make .esp edits to the navmesh moving forwards
  6. Merge the new .esp edits into the .esm at regular intervals or when needed

Does that sound about right? Please stakeholders chime in.

Ok, so after checking a few

Ok, so after checking a few of the Ayleid interiors I can confirm that Cryogen4000s work is more complete than mine.

We would need some of the navmeshers that have done work already to do some evaluations on Chorrol, Bruma, and Skingrad. I've look at some random interiors from Cryo's work with the other cities interiors and they looked good enough to include. Anyone who wants to check those three competing cities?

I have had a run around with followers in Bruma before using Rovan3011's meshes and didn't hit any issues. But that's the only feedback I have.

Sounds good! As far as I know, Yazza has checked GrimWeeder's interiors on Skingrad when he navmeshed the worldspace, but I don't think anyone has seen Enter_77's work in Chorrol's interiors in CK so far.

I've finished Leyawiin worldspace. I'll attach it to this post and link it in the spreadsheet along with Cryogen interiors' files that you've uploaded.

Edit: Imperial Palace MQ16 is done. I'm claiming TES4SENSBliss, TES4SENSCrucible, TES4SEDementiaGarden and TES4SEManiaGarden now.

Attached is Chorrol exterior worldspace - many thanks to LostJak for testing and tweaking for me due to unforeseen technical difficulties on my part!

Devolved: thanks a lot for sorting the Chorrol interiors esp out for me, will start working on that now exterior is finished :)

Edit: Been working on Enter_77's Chorrol interiors, all are excellent, most of the work I've done is just sorting out connecting doors by moving triangles/door markers where needed etc and finalising each interior. Before I upload just wanted to check whether it's best to navmesh Arborwatch as with or wothout purchasable upgrades; it's navmeshed without atm but wondering if I should change?

About Arborwatch house, I've opened it in CSE and took some screenshots of the three interiors pathgrided. From what it seems, the interiors are shown with all the upgrades enabled, and the pathgrid has been made taking the upgrades' furniture in consideration. So, yeah, I think navmeshing considering them is the right choice! =)

I have tested some of the exterior worldspace with holes cut into the navmesh for the standard skyrim (i'm pretty sure) trees that are part of the standard install. The NPCs nav'd fine around them.

Then used the GKB trees .esp and most of the tree trunks in the west weald  were much larger and the NPCs still seemed to navmesh around them even though the holes were cut for the smaller trees. I was trying to get them stuck on the trees and they didn't seem to. Seems like a positive thing.

I remember you mentioning that changing trees could cause issues if they size changed. So just wanted to post that and keep you updated.

Currently working on Bravil Castle Private Quarters North Wing. The idea is as few triangles while covering as much area as possible without placing any navmesh over objects like tables and chairs, right?

Edit: I was notified that moishe was already working on Bravil. I hope he hasn't done that specific interior yet ;_; if nothing else, it could be an audition, no?

Actually all the interiors have been already done by Cryogen4000. What we need is a sweap through all of them (except for Bruma, Chorrol and Skingrad - they were already checked, and Bravil - work in progress by Moishe). The sweap consists in making corrections to overlapping triangles, misconnected triangles and doormarkers not connected to meshes, deleting triangles that are too small for NPCs to use, enlarging paths that are too narrow for the pathtest to work, and ensuring that chairs/bedmarkers have triangles below them.

The spreadsheet is constantly being updated, you can take a look there to know the status of worldspaces and interiors =]
