Translated text from Morrowind

Dear developers,

A long ago we translated Morrowind into Hungarian and it was a big success here, in Hungary. Now, when you've gained international reputation with Skywind :), many people are asking us whether it's possible to apply our translation to Skywind when it will be released.

Unfortunately, I could not answer them since I myself don't know either, that's why I'm writing here. Will you think it is possible to convert an .esp plugin which contains all the dialogues and other translatable text in Hungarian for Skywind?

Thank you for your answer.

On behalf of the MorroHun Team,

Ps.: you can find more about us in English here: http://www.morrohun.hu/rolunk.php?lang=en

I suppose we can try to

I suppose we can try to salvage some things. In what format is your translation? Can you build a dictionnary?

About the format: the English

About the format: the original English text inside the .esm file was replaced by the translation and we also have an .esp plugin which is needed because of some additional mending.

I also remember that clicking on blue "topic words" that caused other topics to appear. But in Hungarian because of the suffixes we don't always have those words colored blue, so we managed to do that when we clicked on a topic, all the other related topics got loaded.

If you're interested, I could send you the compressed Hungarian Morrowind.esm file. I also tried to download „ESM\ESP Conversion Scripts for TES Edit” from the Skywind download section but unfortunately that link is dead.

What kind of dictionary do you think?

The problem we have at the moment is that we cannot give the full list of strings to localize right now because the master is still going under a lot of changes.

When we are in a stable position, we will release the string files for translators.

However, if you don't want to wait for Skywind to be 100% complete before starting the localization, you can start preparing your dictionary so that you can work in parallel.

Building a dictionary is like saying: "I know the translation for this dialog/word. It's ready to be applied automatically later, when I have the final localization files".

I am here for the same reason

I am here for the same reason, I joined the forums to ask if it would be possible to help in the spanish translation. I can help with that since spanish is my main language.

Sure thing, I don't think

Sure thing, I don't think anyone else mentioned a spanish version so far. As stated above, I think what can be done at the moment is creating your dictionary.

I am so happy to see that

I am so happy to see that someone is willing to do a Hungarian translation!  I'm not a native speaker, so I know I wouldn't be able to do that good of a job if I tried, but I thought that if no Hungarians were going to work on it, that I would be willing to give it a try.  I'm certain I would also improve my language skills a lot in the process. :)
