Ooops..

Ooops.. I forgot to test rendering Lip-Sync files before I started this massive venture.
There is no render Lip-Sync files on massive scale button in the CSE.

No I can’t.

No I can’t.
The CSE does not have that same option, and the CS option is broken.
It would be possible if I got the .ESM to load into the old CS.
But for now I am running out of luck.

Found some luck !

I managed to bypass the CS LIP-Sync generation issues by loading
the Morroblivion .ESM into CS v1.0.303

So I can finally start my trial runs on LIP-Syncing.
I am making progress, but still lots of things to do.

Wow dude. Kudos to your perserverance. As I was reading your 3 posts above, I wondered for the first time if you shouldn't start a new thread, based soley on your lip generating work. It may be a good idea. That way you can write a first post [Wip/Relz] Lip File Generation

and tell people what you are doing and update your progress with it.

And then the rest of the thread can be people saying "wow that's cool!" and discussing it and such.

lol. Let me know what you think ;D

Haha, now I FINALLY

Haha, now I FINALLY understand what you're trying to do.

A text to speech program is genius: I never would have thought of that.

I think this would be the perfect way to quickly voice everyone. Then we can go back and replace any files / character that have been voice acted with the more natural sound files. Sweet: good work!

Ya, this part will be tough, as text to speech programs are still in the fledging stages. I can give you some suggestions for each race, but I'm gonna leave this one up to you.

Can you do female voices as well?

Argonian = 12, 13

Breton = 4, 5, 10, 26

Dark Elf == 3, 11, 14, 22

High Elf= 15

Imperial = 0, 28

Khajiit = 8, 12, 25

Nord = 9, 17

Orc = 2

Redguard = 19, 20, 27

Wood Elf =  = 1, 6, 24 (or 18, haha)

Not used = 7, 21, 23, 29, 30

Azura (lol jk, she's not needed) = 16  - perhaps for dark elves?

Great idea Sjors! I also just figured out what you were trying to do. Here's my take so far:

Imperial: 1

Wood Elf: 18 or 24

If your plan goes

If your plan goes accordingly, this will make Morroblivion a lot more engaging and immersive! Keep it up, and I hope the conversion all works out. Looking forward to release.

WOW! this is fantastic,great work by all in the morroblivion project.

This a dream come true for me as I love playing Morrowind,and to be now playing it in the Oblivion graphics engine is really great.

I am useless with the CS myself,but will definately try to put together some mods [quest type ones] later.

Thanks again for all the hard work and hours that you guys are putting into this.:)

29GB is a huge amount of memory but thankfully I can fit it easily. I'm sure we could optimize it somehow, voices shouldn't be GBs bigger than everything else in the project combined.

1) Is the 29g made up of

1) Is the 29g made up of wav's or mp3s? I'm hopeing its wav so you can compress them to mp3!

2)The voice bsa for Oblivion was split into two files, together they're the biggest file. So unfortunatly, this probably will be really huge :(

Keep working though, you've made huge progress so far!

Hell, I'll take 29GB for voiced dialogue ;) But yeah, I'm hoping those are wav's so you can shrink them with mp3's.

Keep up the good work dude!

hay

  it sounds like you need to convert the voices to more simple file formats, i don't know the type that oblivoin uses but there should be one that is smaller, you should also look into a mas converter usly they will help in a lot of files.

   and then you can also look into just simplefying the files of backround noise and things, and or sortening them.

   bethesda has a great sound room that cansles out most backround noises, because any noise makes the file more complex and then also the quality of the noise makes it larger, if the voises are high quality then the back round noise is also.

 just a question are you making those long lists of worthless words you can read in marrowind into speach, most of those things can be said easyer and with less words, the game desiners desined marrowind with so meany words because they could but if you think about oblivions speatch they are simple and to the point, i would sugest thinking about changing it to more like that if that is what you are doing

Sounds good SB. I need to find a night where I can download this, as it will probably take me all night, lol. (Or maybe I could do it at school!?) Anyhow, I'll do so when I get the opportunity.

Thanks for posting it up!

Brown Hood: THat would be nice, but I think SB's doing mp3s: there's just sooo much dialoge to do. =/

SB,I am trying to download

SB,

I am trying to download the files from your link,but it does not work for me.

The filetype for each file reads as .rar,but I am getting a message saying that they are MS Word files and refusing to download.

Are they .rar files.?

Ya, same here. The files are actually rar.doc files, which is no good. =/

Maybe Windows live did that too them? Could you use media fire? I'm not to knowledgeble in uploading file types, but I hope you can get it figured soon, so I can test them!

Okay, I did what you said on one file and it seems to be working. I'll download the rest tonight.

Can anybody with a live hotmail account do that?
Thanks SB!

ps. Sounds like you've got the right audio type to me. Too bad there isn't an mp9 that is three times smaller than mp3 but is lossless.... lol

Great! work SB!,have

Great! work SB!,have downloaded them all.

I like the text to speech method,and most of them sound real cool!,but like all text to speech files some can sound a bit flat.

I use a good audio editor that links to a frequency and modulation hardware unit,is it ok with you if I run some of the files through it,to add some lift or drop in pitch and modulation to some of the voices.?

But like I said,Great! work and I hope you do not read this wrongly.

I can`t change the text to

I can`t change the text to speech sounds very much,but if you have ever used text to speech you would notice that some words [complicated names for example] do not sound like you intended because the real human voice uses phomes [phomic sounds].

For example if you typed without the quotes "iceburg333" it would not sound correct [or might not],so you could use "iscberg therie therie therie",it looks like bad spelling but it`s how it sounds that matters not the spelling.

On walls you might see "Jon woz here",to a text to speech tool that would sound better than "John was here" and "Jon wozz hherer" would proberly sound spot on.

But some of that can be done in an audio editor by trial and error by re-recording and messing with the pitch,speed,amplitude and modulation while its recording.Higher pitch and slightly faster speed sounds female.

Lower pitch and slower speed sounds male.

Other sounds might be robotic etc.

Ironman: Dude, that would be

Ironman: Dude, that would be sweet if you worked on it, though you'd probably want to find a way to automate it as there are sooo many files. What you say makes sense. :)

SB: once I've got these downloaded, how can I get rid of the .doc extension? Thanks man.

It will not be too hard as I

It will not be too hard as I can use the files that SB has worked so hard to produce.

It is only a matter of making each voice in each conversation sound like a different person.

BTW:Are there any original voice files in morrowind apart from the greeting and combat ones.?

If so are they in a .bsa file.?

 To remove the .doc ext,just double left click slowly on each file name then highlight the .doc and delete it.

Click "Yes" to the windows question about the format.Dont double click too fast or it will try to open the file.

Or you could just right click and rename the file with .doc deleted.

Ironman, that totally makes

Ironman, that totally makes sense, and that's normally what I'd do. However, when I rename the files, they show up as "Imperial.M.Part01.rar" I can't get to the .doc file to remove it. Ideas? (I feel like I've done this right before, maybe its a 7 problem?)

SB: sounds good.

I'm in the process of

I'm in the process of downloading the files. (I have 8 of the 12). When I go to rename them it doesn't give the full extension to romove the .doc extension.

I don't ever get " xxxxxxx.rar.doc" I just get "xxxxxxx.rar"

Here was my problem, I had known extensions hidden. http://www.mediacollege.com/microsoft/windows/extension-change.html

iceburg,The files are not

iceburg,

The files are not really Word .doc files,they are .rar archived files and after downloading each file,all that you have to do is chop of the .doc bit of each filename and then unzip them with 7z [thats what I use] or Winrar.

BTW SB,I am getting some corrupted file warnings on some of the files after unzipping them,but it is only the first .mpg file in the archives that are effected so np.

Ummm! that is weird,but in that case iceburg,try left clicking twice [slowly],then highlight the .doc and press del.

If your dowloaded files are not ending in .doc then I am stumped.

Thanks Vivec, you were

Thanks Vivec, you were right.

Thanks for the attempts to help Ironman! What had happend is I had 'hidden known file types' so I couldn't see the .doc to chop it off (see the link if you like). Once I 'unhid' known file types I could chop it off.

Hopefully I'll test sometime soon, at least next time I play anyhow.

I am still working on the

I am still working on the voice overs using text to speech,but this going to be a long haul,as I need more natual voices to use and they are not cheap.

The voices that most TtoS programs use are mostly american,[ a great lanquage,but not well suited to morrowind [no offence intended]].

Will keep in touch with whatever progess I make and hope that Sjors is still working on this too,as he has made some good voices for this project,thanks Sjors!.

I am highlighting each file and clicking on the "download" link over to the right above the sharing and info sections,is that correct.?
