SOLVED: Level up crash

I must in fairness say first that I am running Oblivion under Linux/wine. The game itself works fine and normally has 68 mods running perfectly. In the past I ran Morroblivion and reached level 24 with only minor problems (levitation). When I tried this time, It ran up to the first levelup and on exiting the levelup menu it crashes.

Because it's Linux, I have been very thorough in verifying read/write privileges, filenames and file ownerships. You get that way after installing a hundred-plus mods over time.

I have searched and read all of the forum posts relating to 'levelup' and 'level up' and checked out or performed suggested fixes. No Joy. AFAIK I don't use any mods that alter level up although I'm not sure about what things get altered by Wrye Bash or the COBL mod.

I have disabled all other mods except for DLC. No change. I can turn off the Morroblivion mods and load the save game by using the Oblivion.Launcher and the level up works ok but of course I lose the Morroblivion stuff. Running the same setup from the obse_loader also works once Morroblivion is turned off.

I cannot enable Morroblivion from an already started game. I have to start a new game to use Morroblivion at all. I don't know if that's normal or not. The point being, I can't just turn it off for level up and then turn it back on again.

I am using the GOTY version of Oblivion. Morroblivion version 64Complete.

Thanks in advance for any insights you can provide.

Best regards,

Bob G.

Nevermind. I deleted the

Nevermind. I deleted the .wine directory; erasing all of the programs installed under wine. Then installed Oblivion which automatically creates a new .wine directory. Added all Morrowind and all of the Morroblivion related files back in and then copied that failing save game to the new 'Save' directory. Level up worked fine. Now all I have to do is reinstall all those other games :) Civ-III, Banished, RCT-III, etc.
