Cannot go to bitter coast

Very weird thing has started happening.

I'm doing the Telvanni questline and i need to go to Gnisis to speak to a contact there. I haven't discovered Gnisis officially yet.

Now when ever i try to fast travel to gnisis using the silt strider, or if i try to quick travel to any already discovered bitter coast village, such as seyda neen, i get an instant CTD

does this ring any bells for anyone?

regards

Most likely a Load Order

Most likely a Load Order issue or Mod conflict. Did you run BOSS and/or LOOT? I run them both, in that order. Not only will they sort your mods for you but also list conflicts and offer solutions. Solutions which can admittedly be from easy to complicated to fix.

Don't use LOOT for Oblivion.

Don't use LOOT for Oblivion. Use BOSS. Using both is useless.

@kheldarath PRovide your Load Order.  If you use Oblivion Reloaded try deactivating COmbat Mode and Equipment Mode. If you use OSR try disabling or changing heap replacer. Install MessageLogger and post the MEssageLog.txt file

Hardly useless, BOSS has some

Hardly useless, BOSS has some weird hiccups I've noticed. I.e. BOSS will put esp(s) on the outside of Bashed Patch and there hasn't been an update in a long time, iirc. Where as even if LOOT doesn't recognize a mod, it knows to keep it inside the Bashed Patch, unless otherwise specified.

But to each his own and whatever works for you.

What do you mean for "outside

What do you mean for "outside" and "inside" the bashed patch? you mean after and before? Note that every time load order change it is cosidered good practice to rebuild the bashed patch so BP load order should not be an issue. BOSS masterlist is in continue update and the program itself was picked up by detah_soul on the official forums.

LOOT sort badly some mods for Oblivion(in particular some peculiar ones that may have some kind of subtle conflicts). Using LOOT after BOSS will in fact override BOSS sorting.

Not for me, BOSS and LOOT

Not for me, BOSS and LOOT both list conflicts, using both allows me to see the full spectrum of reported conflicts.

While I maybe slow, often times when starting from scratch it can take me a week to get all my mods installed. BOSS will not leave files alone, it does not recognize and LOOT does. So for a week, I'm moving mod files in and out, trying to get it how I like it. If I Bash a file, put it on the inside/before BOSS will move the damn file, unless I manually add every file I'm testing (<--pain in the ass), making it a waste of time if I don't end up using the mod.

As I mentioned to each his own, but sounds like we have completely different experiences.
