Morrowind Signs

Ellagne and I have been working on the signs for a while now. Her the texturing, me the modeling. And I figure, probably time to show off at least the models.

Nice. Maybe you can add even

Nice. Maybe you can add even more diversity if you ll make signs from only native materials (for Telvanni for example, metal sign can be weird) and placed on wall.

I must admit, I'm not sure.

I must admit, I'm not sure. But I think most of these signs go in towns established by the Empire. Dunmer towns will be using their own unique signs. Banners mainly I think, and maybe some plaques.

You are chef here. I just

You are chef here. I just marked that some native cuisine can be good.

(my comments are adequate only if you want to make other signs (such as townsigns and signs in Balmora and other dunmer settlements), maybe you just making them only for imperial settlements, i am not sure)

Hey, no worries. I'm just sticking to what I've been told to make :)

And here are the last of the signs. The sign posts I may need to redo, far to bland.

Here are some of the sign

Here are some of the sign symbols. Two versions of the Fighters Guild: one painted and one carved like the Mages Guild. Seems to me the Fighters Guild have the resources to make higher quality signs than your average trader, but which version do people prefer? Also, on the original FG sign in Morrowind, I could make out some squiggles on the shield quadrants that could have been symbols; suggestions are welcome.

Epic sign symbols Ellagne! I

Epic sign symbols Ellagne! I think the carved Fighter's Guild symbol is better though, it's bolder and clearer like the Mage's Guild symbol. Just one question: Is the deer sign supposed to be a skinning/ hunting shop one? Because it is, it might be better to replace the deer with another animal native to Morrowind, like a guar. Dark Elf folks around Vvardenfell might be confused to see a creature they haven't seen in their entire lives:)

I think Dunmer would have

I think Dunmer would have their own signs, like they did in Morrowind ;) These are Imperial.

Though now that I think of it

Though now that I think of it, pawnbroker's sign could use slightly different coins. I think Septims with Uriel's face would work a bit better lore - wise than British pennies with queen Elizabeth :P

Ooh my bad, I thought these

Ooh my bad, I thought these signs would also be in places like Ald'ruhn or Sadrith Mora and such (I'm discounting Balmora since it would make sense to have a relatively heavy Imperial presence there, given the nature of House Hlaalu). If these are for towns like Caldera and Pelagiad, then they fit in perfectly:)

They would be seen in Ald

They would be seen in Ald'Ruhn too, but keep in mind that Fighters Guild is an Imperial organisation, even there.

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

The deer symbol is used for inns (not very intuitive from just looking at the sign, I know). I can fix the coins to better depict the emperor :P

That pawn shop symbol is already used on Dunmer pawnbroker banners, so I think Morrowind's designers were trying to maintain some distinction between Dunmeri and Imperial signage.

Sorry for the silence --

Sorry for the silence -- between Christmas and (un)fun with PC problems (my data is all safe, thankfully) I've been a little occupied. But I do have this to show:
