Do you ever respond to forum submissions?

Hello everyone,

I'm a 18 year old hobbyist/music producer from the Netherlands and adise from beat making, composing has always been a big hobby of mine and I hope I can contribute on this project. All my music can be downloaded for free, and ready for use.

I use FL Studio 12 as my DAW and Kontakt 5 and 3rd party libraries from 8dio, EastWest and Soundiron mostly for my compositions.

Here are some examples of my work: https://soundcloud.com/rozcott-official . My inspiration comes from Jeremy Soule's work and the Witcher soundtrack composers.

I only recently started to upload my soundtracks, so there will be a lot more coming. I already mailed an application, but never have gotten a response, so thats why I made this post.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi Composer of Ambience.

Hi Composer of Ambience. Thanks for your submission. You've definitely got talent but it's just shy of what we require in terms of nuance on some of the individual instruments. Thanks for applying :)

Though, I would like to know

Though, I would like to know what ''nuance on individual answers'' you require. Bit of a vague answer. As a composer this feedback is immensely helpful, and on top of that, which ''instruments'' didn't you like? Please answer. Thanks

Hi Composer. The other

Hi Composer. The other composers have been asked to respond here. Fredrik is going to try to give some feedback here tonight or tomorrow.

Hi!

Hi!
Thanks you for your patience and thank you for looking to help out on Skywind. I'll just briefly go over what my thoughts are and explain the state of the music department.

Beginning with the latter, we're as of now four composers writing for the project. Even though we have been laying a bit low for the lasts months we are not really looking for new members. This is because of at least two factors, the first being that we, as I'm sure you understand, we want to create a soundtrack that sounds as consistent as it possibly can. Secondly, the vast majority of tracks has already been composed, and since we have the time necessary to complete the soundtrack with the current team it would take someone with an extremely convincing feel for the style and a very impressive skill both compositionally and production wise for us to take an additional composer on board. That's the situation right now, but should the circumstances change for some reason, we will save your links for later.

I won't go into great detail of the tracks here but I can give my initial, overall thoughts. There are some really nice moments in your music :) But there are also stuff that breaks the spell. Most notivable are the solo instruments which are always tricky business. I'm simply not convinced that the instruments are played by actual, breathing players. If we take Town Music as example, I can clearly hear that both the cimbalom-like instrument and the solo viola (?) is indeed virtual instruments. For the viola, the transitions between the notes sounds chopped off and the phrases needs more life and a sense of direction. The named instruments also sound like they are played in a completely different space than rest of the instruments. In a TES context they sound in my opinion far too close. This is a very common tendency in the submissions we get.

The last thing I'll say is that the tracks lacks that TES feel. Perhaps they weren't composed with TES in mind, but I just want to highlight once again that we as of now aren't really looking to expand the team, and for us to concider doing that we would need something that more or less would sound like it actually were from the series' original soundtracks.

I hope that was of some help! I hear a lot of potential so I hope I'll hear great stuff from you ahead.

Best
Fredrik
