Scroll of Icarian Flight Bug

So after using a Scroll of Icarian Flight I can't stop jumping 20,000 feet into the air over Morrowind whenever I try to normal jump. I mean, I'm not complaining, it's a pretty sweet view, except for the whole dying thing. At any rate, I google'd a solution for this problem thinking maybe it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm playing Morroblivion...well I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but I don't know how to uncurse my character with the blessed console command. Other oddity about this bug is even if I'm running and I try to jump, I basically just go forward a few feet, not really going any distance except UP, waaay UP.

Any ideas?

This isn't a bug. The entire

This isn't a bug. The entire point of the Scroll of Icarian Flight is to jump 20,000 feet in the air and die.

It sounds to me like he is

It sounds to me like he is trying to say that the scroll did not wear off, but maybe I just misinterpreted it.

Yes, exactly, every time I

Yes, exactly, every time I try to jump I go a mile high. Please read thoroughly, I wouldn't go this far out of my way to make a post about it. At any rate, it was happening no matter how many times I reloaded the save, so I went to a save prior to using the scroll.

I reviewed the scripts and I

I reviewed the scripts and I believe it should work as intended except for one potential scenario: if the player saves in mid-flight while the spell is still active.  Reloading from a Savegame will often break actively running scripts.  In this case, the original jumpheight is stored in a variable at the start of the spell.  When the game is saved/reloaded while the spell is still active, the original jumpheight variable becomes corrupted.  Thus, the original jumpheight can not be restored when the spell effect ends.

My suggestion: NEVER save the game while a temporary scripted spell effect is still active -- this includes things like levitate, jump, slowfall, werewolf.  (Werewolf transformation has been revised and updated several times to try to detect a save/reload scenario, but I would not 100% guarantee that it will work every time.)  I'll go further and say that it is unwise to save/reload while any temporary spell effect is active, including the unscripted/hardcoded-game engine spells.  This is one way you can permanently break your savegame file.
