Hi, Morroblivion community!
I've been taking an extended break from Morroblivion modding since last November, but I've decided to come back to share some new ideas and new mods with everyone. Most of these will be rolled into the next batch of morroblivion-fixes mods:
1. UCWUS updates to most of the missing enchanted morrowind clothing items: I went through the entire database and tried to assign the missing UCWUS item script to all the clothing and armor items that were missing it. I also went through and modified the associated enchantments with the correct Morrowind magnitudes and casting costs since many were still using tweaked compatibility values from the Constant Effect only days.
2. Work-around for cast-on-equip behavior for OnTarget enchanted items. Previously, equipping an Ranged/OnTarget enchanted item such as the Ring of Fireball would immediately cast a fireball. I made a work-around by using SetEnchantment to assign the fireball enchantment after the item is equipped and then running through the standard UCWUS functions. I then RemoveEnchantment from the item during OnUnEquip so that re-equipping will not cause a fireball to trigger.
3. I've made a new implementation of Sanctuary magic effect to better simulate the original Morrowind behavior. Instead of trying to integrate a "dodge" system into the Oblivion combat mechanics, I decided to try to simulate a successful "dodge" by randomly setting the ArmorRating to maximum value on every frame-tick of the Sanctuary spell. That way there is a chance equal to the %magnitude of the Sanctuary spell that a successful hit will not cause damage. Unfortunately, I think your armor durability will still decrease.
4. Finally, I figured out a way for Trainers to train in multiple skills! I'm not sure why I've never thought of it before, but I've completed implementing a framework which allows you to select the Skill you want trained by talking to the NPC. Some dialog scripts then dynamically reassign the NPC's TrainerSkill and the TrainerLevel based on the NPC's own stats in that skill. I've attached the current developmental version of this mod for everyone to check out. It currently is implemented for the Blades Trainers and the Balmora Mage Guild Trainers. More NPCs can be added just by using the dialog conditions settings. For testing purposes, I've configured Caius to be able to train in all Skills.
Hopefully, I'll release a new batch of morroblivion fixes with these updates soon (within a week).
Update 1: I took down the development version of multiskill-trainers and posted the release mod here: https://tesrenewal.com/forums/morroblivion-mod-releases/rel-morroblivion-multiskill-trainers. I'll try to work on releasing the new version of
morroblivion-fixes, magic-fixes and startingspells later this afternoon...
Update 2: New version of Magic fixes now posted, but had a huge delay trying to track down bugs in the multiskill-trainers mod. I'm going to take the rest of the night off and be more careful and methodical with releasing the new morroblivion-fixes and startingspells mods.
