Ravanna's Bittercoast Asset Dump

With the help of Scumpunx, Felix, Vita, and eloth sorting out our mess of work, we've pretty much finished the assets for Bittercoast landscaping.

Here are the assets I did with some help from others, many are skyrim meshes reuvd/re baked.

Thanks to Felix for help on tombs and for creating Boethiah Vine.

Still some more assets to clean up and send to vita/eloth, namely, the main trees, with scumpunxs' new vines/moss.

MOST LIKED: Ammonite. Would

MOST LIKED: Ammonite. Would be nice even to see all coast from such things.
It can look like they extinct only yesterday.

LeaST LIKED: Velothi markers. Red side inscriptions are much more interesting than main ones.
Maybe style of tombs just not suit them nice: obelisk with vertical inscription can be better step.

My god these are amazing, I

My god these are amazing, I think those new sediment rocks especially are going to do so much to bring out this region's character. What is the thing in the fourth picture though? I assume it's like a corpse of some big crab??

heres a test pic of a tree

heres a test pic of a tree that vita created the different versions for, i just coloured/retextured and added scumps vines.

I wanted the bark to look dead and give the area a more ghostly feel, but i think many may not agree with the grey bark.

Looking great Ravanna. We've

Looking great Ravanna. We've always wanted that sort of dead look for swamps, but it also needs leaf coverage so that a lot of the sun is cut out (darker atmosphere). So I think this mix is the right balance.

The only thing that needs to get experimented with is shadows. I spent a deal of time with trying to optimize trees with shadows, because the placeholder ones were horrible on performance. I good deal why Bitter Coast frame rates are the worst in game so far.

If those are alpha layers for the thin branches, I'm not even sure how it works with shadows. If there are none, then im fine with that. But we will just have to wait and see.

Upload the files my man, and I'll test it out.

Yes Grumpy these are alpha

Yes Grumpy these are alpha layers for smaller branches. And last time I tested, it casts nice and sharp shadows. And I haven’t noticed unnormaly huge performance impact. I hope it will stay this way. It would be a shame to turn it off, even partially.

Normally there should be several variations of these trees including ones in pretty good shape with large foliage.

ok I'm done with these, now

ok I'm done with these, now back to Vita for tree effects for ingame.
Polycounts are quite high, 2-5k, so the BC area will have to be more sparse than we had hoped.

I added Boethiah Strangling Vine/Bushes too, unless we need some special waterfall assets, all BC assets are done now.

The tree's look great. But I

The tree's look great. But I don't think the bitter coast is suppose to have so many dead tree's. It's pretty much a rainforest swamp area from what I can see in morrowind.

I agree with Smerk. Trees are

I agree with Smerk. Trees are cool but it would be cool to see more "living" examples or greenish. Evrything is so dull.. To make it more colorful I propose to adding some examples with slime mold

Still struggling to get these

Still struggling to get these oaks in game, and make it look and feel “tree” under Skyrim engine. Here is CK view of the first entirely reworked and animated model.

That looks awesome vita. But

That looks awesome vita. But are you not going to use the original wind system in skyrim, or are you just going to animate them. From what I can see the effect is really good. But I don't really know how you can control it for different weather types.
