Morag Tong writs

Hi, i recently installed morrobilivion (version 26) and all is well except for morag tong. the guards do not accept my writs - i can manage to kill the first target (the recruitment quest) and then turn myself into a guard before they coem to me, but they do not acknowledge the writ, which I can see in my inventory. I have tried installed a mod by RADITZ but that did not work either. 

Could i get some help with this? thanks

There are some known issues with Morang Tong questline, but I am not sure, if someone is doing theses quests.

 

Still not relying on writs are the right thing to do,they sometimes wokr, sometimes not. At least it was like this for me.

 

So act like an assassin and sneak attack:D

I haven't had any trouble with the writs themselves, but I haven't gone out of my way to get caught.

There are tons of issues with the Morag Tong, many of which I fixed...but my .esp got corrupted, so there goes that. :(  Either way, the questline isn't fully implemented, so someone will have to put some time into it sooner or later.  I'm afraid that's a bit beyond the scope of what I have time for.

Thanks for reply. I got around the first quest by simply sneak attacking him (i had deadly reflex on) and 1 shot killed him, and then i just removed my bounty for first quest. After that ive just been able to either taunt or they auto attack me the rest of the targets - no trouble with the guards. I haven't presented any writs yet, im just finding ways to do it without them.

You pretty much HAVE to sneak attack 1-shot to avoid a problem.  That is, if you execute the writs the way that the Morag Tong wants you to - (none dared report it) - then you're fine.  That's what good assassins do, after all.

If you are a shitty assassin and people see you then you're going to have problems.

I have improved the script a little, but quite simply, your bounty doesn't get updated FAST enough for it to work perfectly.  Depending on the situation, you may come to this situation:

1) Kill a guy that you have a writ for

2) Someone sees you

3) Ordinator shows up before the game engine updates the two bounties (1000 gold for a murder + 40 gold for assault) - damn those ordinators can run fast.

4) You say you are from the Morag Tong, and present your writ

5) Ordinator says thanks and leaves you alone

6) Bounty updates too late and your bounty goes up again!

7) Ordinator comes right back "Stop right there criminal scum", but he already took your writ, damnit!

8) Bounty script updates and lowers your bounty back to zero, but only option is to pay gold, resist arrest, or go to jail.

9) You have to choose one of these:

a) Resist arrest and then you have to YIELD to the ordinator by holding down block (right mouse button) and trying to talk to him (normal "talk to" key on keyboard).  Then the ordinator will leave you alone.

b) Go to jail or pay the fine, and you are done.

tl;dr: don't be a shitty assassin - make sure no one sees you!

I don't know anything about scripts, but if there is a command to stop the game for some time, you can use to gain time for like 4 seconds, so that in the meantime other command can kick in and do what it should do...

Yeah i have tried a timer but i am not a scripting expert.

In other news: I have worked my way through about 75% of the Morag Tong quests now, and made a TON of fixes.  Most are pretty easy, but there are a lot of them.  Just started working on Sanguine Item quests...

Update: I have fixed all of the quests, including the grandmaster writs.  I can now play through the entire Morag Tong questline EXCEPT for the Sanguine Items.

Currently only a handful of the 27 items actually exist in the game (those necessary for other quests), so I will have create them (i.e. make duplicates of other items), then put them in the right locations, then build the quests for them.

UPDATE 2: All of the Sanguine Items dialogue topics are created / moved / fixed etc. so that everything works.  Just have to create and place the items now, and then tie them to the quest dialogue.

I have gone through the entire Morag Tong questline, including sanguine items.  Here is the patch for v050; it should be merged in when David releases v051.

I've got a problem with writs for Feruren Oran. The guard says that I have no legitimate writ. I tried reading the writ before attacking him but it does not help.

My mod list in the attachment. I play the version 0.65.

Do you mean version 0.64?  If it is 0.65, please share a link so I can try it out too.

Regarding Feruren Oran: there have been multiple bug reports regarding this first Morag Tong quest.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to reproduce any of the bug reports.  Please refer to the Bugs here: https://tesrenewal.com/forums/morroblivion-problems/active-m...

I have encountered some rare bugs where the murder penalty is charged twice or when two guards try to stop you back to back... the first guard removes the writ and lets you go, but the second guard is not updated that the bounty is removed, so he tries to stop you and demands another murder penalty amount.

EDIT:
I reviewed the Dialog trees and scripts again.  One scenario that can happen is that you click "I'm an agent of the Morag Tong" before the MoragTong Scripts can run and process your writs:

Try waiting at least 5 seconds -- starting from the moment the Guard talks to you.

This will allow the game engine to cycle through and process all active scripts.  If you don't respond in a few days, I'll assume that this workaround has fixed the issue.  Thanks!
