Great work so far! I do

Great work so far! I do recommend sticking to one thread per set of armor, though. It keeps the forum from being cluttered.

Not a problem! It's not a hard and fast rule or anything, just a general procedure so that it's easy to find everything.

I'm in love with the sewed

I'm in love with the sewed design, especially the test on the vest. It looks amazing. I'm not a big fan of the silhouette and the boots though. The lower part of the cuirass looked much better in this version, and much closer to my design too. I asked you to make the mask more like the rest of the armour, and you made the rest of the armour more like the mask :P This armour is made by primitive, tribal people, and not factories. It needs to be much simpler in design, meaning loose stripes of hardened leather sewn together.

Please, make the whole armour more in this style, this looks awesome.

All due respect, I think

All due respect, I think smart's design is more interesting than the concept this time around. Nothing's to say that the armor can't look well made, even if it's composed of organic material, and the real sticking point is the helmet. It's attractive, really attractive, from a user's point of view and it looks like it did it well within Morrowind's original aesthetic.

Lots of great concepts, but this time I don't think either lore or design is hurt by going with what you have in the op. Boiled netch helm has looked goofy since 2003. Never posted before because I don't want to be one of those guys but this time I think it'd be a shame not to.

please dont get confused

please dont get confused between netch leather and boiled netch leather. 2 different armours. netch leather would follow the colour of the netch, and some of its features, boiled netch is a harder, darker version.

Some designing needed to seperate these 2 perhaps.

Kommodore, it's not just the

Kommodore, it's not just the matter of whether one armour looks cool or not. It's a matter of visual integrity. If we have ashlanders walking around in Batman masks, the Chitin and other armours would have to be changed in order to fit with it.

Having said that, I'm not some close-minded conservatist, and we're going to use parts of Smart's design that would fit, as they are good ideas. The mask won't be changed to look like the original, but then neither did it look much like original in my concept. We're working closely together discussing each step in the chat. Don't worry, you won't be disappointed ;) The design, although really appealing and stylish just didn't fit with what this armour essentially is in the game. I'm not doing a race here for which one is better, I'm taking the best of both.

perhaps a mid ground can be

perhaps a mid ground can be found? keeping to what is designed up top only made with wider stitching breather holes that are not as evenly spaced so that it looks more like it is hand made rather than machine made. as a leather worker in real life I got to say that the holes never come out like the breather holes that are there currently unless you have a multi punch tool, so it is a feasible possibility. the look of test 1 is more in tone for a boiled leather as when you boil it it becomes tougher and harder to get a smooth edge from. I know what you are thinking that "why not just stitch it before boiling it?" because the stitching would tear during the boil and would loosen after the boil, thus making a poor armor/ stitch.
