<WIP> Jerall mountains are MOUNTAINS!
Please don't use Skyrim assets...
Well, he can use the models, just not the assets. You can duplicate the asset and rename it to have "TES4" in front of it like all the other Skyblivion assets do, though. Just don't alter or place any vanilla Skyrim assets, duplicate it instead and use the duplicated version. Otherwise, there will be problems if we ever make an oblivion remake for the next TES game, as some oblivion assets were used and those assets had to be replaced manually with Skywind.

Hope you realize how many are actually used in skywind.

This. I ment im just using the models. In no way am i modding the vanilla Game
Of course I know, don't take me for an idiot. But it's not like you can easily notice them, besides you don't want Skyrim rocks all over the mountains in Skyblivion.

I see where you are coming from yes. However its only with the mountain cliffs I'm worrying about. I am however tying to blend it in with Skyrim and Skyoblivions Artstyles. So far its working Quite nicly. ill post screenshots soon.
Also it i am considering toying with moss/snow effects on Skyoblivions models.
Im not expecting this to be done any time soon however i can keep you guys posted
Ok, fair enough, I'd love to see the screenshots anyway :P

Battle for Bruma. These screens dont do it justice
rocks look nice but the default skyrim texture is so recognizable. one thing i do think would be really good is if all snow in the game was replaced with skyrim snow.
the default skyrim texture may be recognizable as skyrim but i don't think thats necessarily a bad thing. I mean these are technically the same mountains you find in the south of skyrim. so it makes sense they would match. this part of cyridiil was supposed to reflect skyrim and the nords quite heavily in the oblivion game.

I was considering doing a whole retexture myself. I have a collection of my own work over the years working in SourceSDK. I may pick through it and see what is usable.

This is also very true. we don't want the game to look exactly like oblivion either because well majority of the game looks like... pudding...
Looks very nice!
You are free to do anything you want using any models since such modifications won't be merged in the main Skyblivion master to preserve compatibility with Oblivion mods.
Consider your mod as the start of Skyblivion's own Unique Landscape series.
Can I ask you to add a distant fog clouds on mountains like in Skyrim? :)

Fog and clouds is On the list. Also if we're talking about converting mods over as well. Have you considered Elsweyr: Desert of Anequina?
Any mod can be converted unless it relies heavily on oblivion engine mechanics (for example combat and body replacer mods).
Just testing the mod and the mountains feel like mountains now. its quite intimidating. Ill post screenshots once i repair a few errors.
i need an opinion. Seeing as its Cloud ruler temple. Should i add an almost blinding amount of cloud effects around the temple?
damn thats pretty
Areas iv worked on so far.

What it looks like.

(no ENB just Skyrim with SKyblivion)
I want to climb that.
It's all Skyrimy :P
I'll let that slide, since its an area that connects to skyrim, and the engine is skyrim. ;)
Even then, a lot of skyrims landscape assets would fit just fine in Cyrodiil after retextures to make the grass the same and maybe slight changes in the color of the stone to reflect the different regions geographic differences.
Basically just make everything less GRAY and BORING, like skyrim, and introduce some
anarchycolor like in Oblivion. Besides, isn't it possible to have, say, a cliff mesh from skyrim reference oblivions grass and stone textures?SikSikSikki wrote:
Iv been experimenting with this already. however ill have to include meshes in the download file meaning the download size will bloat.
You should let the cliffs like that in this area, leave more colorful variations for colovian highlands/souther valus mountains (just look at unique landscape mods).
Nice job anyway : ) I did that for the old master but it's lost now. You can add a few glaciers too in the little valleys behind the cloudmaster temple and the azura shrine.
Damn. Things like save game bloating are beyond me... I never know what causes that kind of thing. Oh well... Either way, the gray rocks of Skyrim look great in the Jerall Mountains, but be sure to look at how skyrim builds its cliffs. They shouldn't be made up of a crap ton of the meshes put together, and should look as seamless as possible.

Yeah some more cloud affects would be nice. It would makes the temple look more secluded and it would help hide the fact that its textures look awful from a distance.
SikSikSikki wrote:
Actually believe it or not the mountains are generally 4 meshes with some detail around it. (with the exception of the slopes)
what happened to this
Drakonman had to leave us, but you should see an update for the Jerral mountains soon ;)
This was also done on an older version of the mod that is no longer being used by the team. Oh Hi BTW
