Okay, I post how to do it I manage to do it. :D I believe a work around would be to create an esp dependant only on the skyrim esm that has No data in it, (using creation kit or tesvsnip) then use tesvgecko to move all the data over. (I think tesvsnip would corrupt the file and I'm not sure how to do it with wyre bash.) The last esp Of it i made Before the (Semi)working had an issure where You had to press enter(yes, no, yes to all) on every asset so you might get that problem again.

BTW,I use an esp but mine is dependent on skyrim.esm and oblivion_sk.esm.

But I can still use it by ticking it alone and working on it.

This is simply amazing! Thank you folks for taking the time to make this project/dream a reality. It's quite fantastic and I'm learning to use the creation kit we we speak (or type >:P) so maybe one day I will be able to contribute something to this wonderful project. To everyone involved, keep up the excellent work, many folks are extremely excited to see this regardless of alpha-stages of developement or not! And Thanks for keeping us updating with the latest progress, I know it takes time to upload this work to an FTP and package it properly with a readme, etc. so please don't think your hard work and dedication is for nothing. Really Bethesda should help this project just because its that amazing.

Testing

I can confirm that running this as the only mod does in fact work, and using COW AND_Tamriel x x from the main menu spawns right in Cyrodiil. Considering it's stage of work, it looks lovely. I have the doors fix installed, however, and doors do not work. There are also the red boxes and x-es and purple outlines scattered around, but I imagine that's from missing bits yet to be done, so I'm not complaining.

Reading Wanted Posters of the Grey Fox causes instant crash. I'm impressed by how quickly Skyrim crashes, actually.

But oh lord does this look beautiful. Thank you all so much for your work and I look forward to the finished product.

My doors mod only fixes the doors into a few of the cities (the imperial city being the most prominent). It is far from complete. Yep many books cause the game to crash (a formatting problem I think), so that is known. There are also several mesh problems that cause crashes, and they will be fixed in due time. Anyway, thanks a lot for trying it out. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

I made a door mod the relinks all of the cities put I don't know how to use version control. I keep getting a mesage saying the version of the Oblivion_sk in skyrim\data folder is different then the version in merging\data folder. The esp i made only has dependences on the the Oblivion_sk esm.

Try this,

Download the lastest Oblivion_sk.esm master and put it into your Merging\Data folder and also into your Skyrim Data folder.

Then try merging your esp again.

You must highlight then "checkout" the forms that you need,then highlight them again and hit "checkin",say "no" to the next message box,and it should the merge into the master in your Merging\Data folder. 

If it merges,it will change [update the master] that is in your Merging\Data folder,that is the one that you need,so copy it to your Skyrim\Data folder overwriting the old one,but always keep a backup of the one you downloaded.

You will be the only guy with the one that you update,but if it works ok it could become the new master.

You should not need to have your esp in the skyrim\data folder if it all worked as your new forms should now be in the new master.

Hey Ironman, I just realized this, but shouldn't we get an installer for Skyblivion as well?  I know we are not working on it at the moment, but we don't want anyone getting angry at us for leaving up an unprotected master.  Would it be to difficult to modify your installer to install Oblivion_sk.esm and check whether or not Oblivion is installed?

Shadow,I could do that,but at this time I do not want to have both of the masters [installers] on my mediafire account,because like I have stated in another thread,the projects rely on the masters and if there is any flack for legal reasons I would then be issueing 2 masters from the same source.

I can give you a link to the installer that I use to package the Skywind master if you wish though.?

In fact it would be a good idea to put that link here,then if for some reason I can`t use mediafire,the current master[s] could be stored elsewhere by projects leaders in a new installer.

Do you know how long I have waited to see Oblivion be put in to a new engine? DO YOU? I am spazzing out over here. I love you. I. Love. You. The day this is done will be in the top ten happiest days of my life. Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim all on the same game! The same amazing mods for Skyrim in the older titles! I'll happily take these projects over ESOnline. If you need a beta tester, I'm your guy! I registered just to show my gratitude. I can't wait to see how Oblivion planes look in Skyrim! One suggestion, add in some of/all of Oblivion's spells. Skyrim's automagic spells are great and all, but it isn't Oblivion without someone shooting a ball of fire at you. Leave Skyrim's spells alone but just ADD Oblivion's like a regular spell mod. I'll make some videos about this site. I've followed it for years and it hasn't ever let me down. Actually, NPCs are much easier for Cyrodiil.  They are already the correct races, and all we need to do is modify the base race to have the properties of the Skyrim races.  Of course they would all have the same face, but that is not essential.

Plus Oblivion actually has a bit less npcs than Morrowind, due to the bandits and such not being named npcs. I'll list them just for fun. I'm not sure if I loaded Shivering islands' master, because my Oblivion install is modded to hell.  Is Shivering isles' master file called 'DLCShiveringIsles.esp'? If so, why is it only 85kb? I just reinstalled it too.

Hey there!

Thanks for this guide. Followed your guide to the letter but I haven't tried launching the game yet. I actually have a question.

 

I have 3 skyrim installations. One from my steam with all my skyrim mods, and 2 on a seperate hard drive for Skywind and Skyblivion respectively. Unfortunately, when I click skyrim launcher (in my Skywind folder- to enable the .esm) it boots up the skyrim in my steam folder. So I am moving the skyblivion installation over to the steam folder and see what happens.

 

Is there any way of being able to launch a separate installation of skyrim without having it go through steam? I don't want to have to keep moving installations around into my steam folder. Also, can I have skywind and skyblivion on the same installation? Like all the textures, meshes, ect from both projects, but only have one .esm enabled at a time?

You don't really need

You don't really need separate installations, all you need to do is change a few check boxes in the launcher or the NMM. What you are doing seems like a gigantic waste of hard drive space.  So the answer to your last question is most definitely yes.

However, if you don't want to take that advice, you could try getting creating a shortcut to the actual TESV.exe instead of the launcher.

Hmm I cannot get this

Hmm I cannot get this working, followed your instructions to the letter and it crashes when I tried to load a vanilla save :( starting a new game comes up with a ton of errors, and I just hang in the black loading screen with the dragonborn symbol. Not sure what I can do!

 

I installed the all optional mods, the only thing I couldn't do was download part 1 of the oblivion meshes (although I downloaded and extracted part 2 and shivering isles). 

 

Any ideas? Thanks

That's the problem? Only having part of the meshes will cause crashing? :( Ok, I will delete the ones from part 2, can I keep the Shivering Isles meshes or do those have to go as well?

Deleting the meshes from Oblivion/Shivering Isles didn't help the crash, deleting the entire mesh folder didn't help either.

I think you need the part 2 to even load of the Oblivion map. I had your issue before because I forgot about getting the Shivering island meshes. I'll re-upload the second part of the meshes. I gotta warn you, my upload is shitty, so you might have wait an hour or two.

Also Wetriggerscript w/e has to do with your plugin.txt.

Welp, I added Skyrim.esm to

Well, I added Skyrim.esm to the plugin.txt and that fixed the starting the new game issue, I can actually get in the game now! However it immediately crashes once I enter cow and_tamriel 5 10

Interesting I can do cow and_tamriel 4 7. I see the imperial city in the distance but when I get too close it crashes on me. 

So, if we're missing the meshes you're uploading, that means that anyone who downloads these files and follows the steps will still crash. We have to get your file in the instructions! :)

 

Edit: Discovered that it's actually crashing when I get too close to certain areas, like the water near the Imperial City or Bravil. Maybe they're just random crashes.

 

I haven't seen that many structures out in the wilderness though. But interesting enough when I put my meshes back 4 7 spawned me in a fort (where I was in water before I had the meshes in). And there are also a lot of these things O.o

 

I'm definitely missing a lot of meshes. I just stumbled across a hanging sign post attached to some green thing that says "Moslin's Inn" and in Oblivion that was a pretty big building and I don't see any of it, just the sign. So there is little in the world. Maybe I'm missing something more than the meshes? As I understand it all the settlements/ cities/ places of interest should be in the game.

skyblivion races

I've set skyblivion race properties to match skyrim vanilla ones, so now npcs will appear in cyrodiil (imperial, breton, nord, redguard, argonian, khajiit, orc, dark elf, high elf, wood elf, dremora, golden saint and dark seducer). The last two are copied from vanilla dremora. The esp is dependent on skyrim.esm and oblivion_sk.esm. There is a strange issue with body textures. If anyone can fix it, please help.

This is awesome! now if only we could convert quests like the skywind team has done, the npc appearances wouldnt have to be changed but it would allow for some minor tinkering while we wait for skywind to be finished. Possibly going to upload my weather mod plugin for Skyblivion if I have the time. This will make exploring ruins alot more fun :D

Great, good to see there are people working on skyblivion ; ) (well,the guards are all naked for now, but that's a start^^). BTW, the original clothes shouldn't be that hard to convert since I see a lot of converted outfit from oblivion on many forums.

The weather would be cool as well, we need to regroup all thoses esp in the same place.

The Skywind team IS going to

The Skywind team IS going to convert those quests... after Morrowind is done.  These aren't two separate projects.  We are simply limiting our focus to Skywind at the moment so we get one finished product faster, rather than two unfinished ones.  Then once we finish up a good portion of Skywind, we will shift some efforts over to the Oblivion conversion and start work on it.  You guys just need to be patient.  :)

I just hope we can get unique landscapes and better cities into Skyblivion. Oblivion's landscape is so bland without it.

You got the crash fix file? if so, Skyblivion is still extreme alpha, a crash is to be expected I'm afraid. To be honest though, even though Skyblivion is behind Morrowind, Skyblivion doesn't actually crash as much as Skywind. At least it didn't when I tried out Skyblivion.

I did install the crash fix, but I'll try to get it working by going through everything again.  I was just wondering if someone knew how to fix it.

I couldn't find the source of my problems, but I did notice a couple of placement issues while walking around.  Would it help if I fix those problems where I can?  That way I can also get comfortable with the CK.

 

EDIT:  I found the problem, the meshes I installed from the split archive were incomplete.  Now that I downloaded the full archive everything seems to work.

Glad you got your archive problem fixed Johann,but for future reference,if an archive comes in more than one part it usually has something like xxxxxx,part1.rar then xxxxxx.part2.rar etc,if so just unzip part one with xxxxxx.part1.rar/ or something like that and all parts should then be unzipped in one big part on folder. 

The CK is not easy to master,but just start small and get to know it`s layout etc,and the wiki sites are handy too.
